I always do that to someone who ask why The Escapist acts like jerks. Besides, the Escapist so call fourm memebers are not the "last bastion of intelligence on the Internet" because if they are? God help us all.
Further proof we need a sarcasm font in the internet. Writing /sarcasm is just weird. My fault, bro.

What an idiot, you do not bike, skateboard, or walk without a light in the middle of a busy fucking road in foggy weather! The pedestian may have the right of way, but 2-4 tonnes of metal will still ruin your day.

I'm reall surprised that there aren't more accidents involving pedestrians or people on bikes or motor scooter, I see them in the middle of the road nearly every day and my biggest problem is they don't move at all, I've had to stop because there was a person walking ing my lane and I couldn't move into the oncoming lane due to traffic I sat for about 30 seconds walking this lady walk towards me. The bikes and scooters are worse because they think they belong on the road the motor scooter are especially ridiculous going 20 in a 45 and acting like their a car the damn things are only legal if you can do the speed limit. People are supposed to watch out for cars sure drivers need to be aware but I have no sympathy for those to stupid to use some common sense like getting out of the road when a cars coming.

So... yeah.

It was about 7 A.M. this morning. The sun has not fully risen, yet. On my way to school today, I see that the traffic was severly slow. As the line to the parking lot moved on, I notice a couple of police cruisers and an ambulance. There had been a wreck. It involved a student from my local Highschool. And that student was hit by a car.

The twist? The student was riding his skateboard in the middle of the road lanes.

...

So, what do you guys/gals think? Do you feel sympathy for the kid or some other rage-induced feeling?
It has been called many names:
"Too dumb to live"
"Poetic Justice"
"Karma"
"Darwin's Law"
"Natural Selection"
"HA, HA!"

And so on, and so forth. Yeah, no sympathies except maybe the person who owned the car that hit the kid. That must have been a tough one to explain to the insurance agencies...

Skateboarding in traffic? I'm not saying he deserves to be hit by a car, but if you were to say that I'd find it very difficult to disagree with you. :)

That reminds me of when I were a lad. There was a kid on one of the school buses - you'd know the type if you've ever been to high school - a 'cool' kid, didn't bother to study, always in trouble, used physical education class as an excuse to brutalise the others children, such a badass that he would sneak out at lunch time to smoke behind the sheds where teachers couldn't see him, bullied the nerds etc.

Anyway, while sitting at the back of the school bus and dicking about with his equally retarded friends he opened the emergency exit...just as the bus swung into the car park. The force of the turn propelled our hero straight out into the road. Where he was hit by a car. And then another.

It was funny then and it's still funny now.

As much as I hate skateboarders and how (most) of them seem to act like they're king of the roads, few people deserve to die, and I doubt this kid was one of them.

Well, simple matter of he gets what he asked for.

Road has cars, if you are in road, cars will be there too, cars are dangerous and bigger than you.

I know the skater community isn't famous for their drug free law abiding intelligence, but skating in the middle of the road is stupid, the end. If you're gonna skate on the road, skate by the side of it, then cars can maneuver around you easily.

But I hope him a speedy recovery and such, hopefully he'll learn some sort of lesson... A really, really obvious one.

The only reason people don't get run over walking in front of my car without looking is because I wouldn't do well in prison... This concept of everyone having to look after each other is the reason health and safety laws are so stupid, we have the nanny state and defective genes are no longer eliminated.

EDIT: I do care how I effect others, it's just I'm not going to spend my entire time looking out for people who wont do so for themselves. I suppose it's similar to work, why should I be working to pay taxes for the people who just don't want to work?
Pretty much this. I've had a guy actually start crossing the street, and stop right in front of me. And just look at me. I took my foot off the brake and it startled him so bad he ran for the other side of the road.

See, I'm not usually an asshole when it comes to things like that, but I can't tell you how many kids I've almost hit because they darted out in front of me because their brood leader decided that they didn't want to keep an eye on them. People seem to think that they're always protected and that they can't be hurt.

I've also been on the receiving end of this. I was walking in a crosswalk when the signal said to walk and a car just plowed right through, grazing me in the process. Luckily, I was able to fall backwards, towards the sidewalk and not forward and possibly into more traffic. Only a few bruised ribs and scrapes were had, but I was doing everything legally and safely as I could, and I got hit. Granted, I probably should have been able to see him from further, but I think he must've changed lanes or something to get into the lane he was in because I saw him coming soon enough to start moving, but not soon enough to be completely out of the way. Live and learn I guess. Or die and don't spread the genes. XD

That is rather sad but he should have known better. Having said that, he doesn't deserve it but at least next time he won't do it again.

Rule number one you learn at our driving schools here:
"As a car driver it's always your fault (if you hit someone who is using something less than a car)!"

Bad luck for both, I think. Hate to be car driver at that moment.
Yeah, that's basically my take on it. I mean, unless someone jumps off a bridge and lands on your car, there's always steps you can take as a driver to avoid accidents. You're the one driving two tonnes of metal traveling at high speeds that can brake in an instant. You're the one who should be paying attention.
WTF kind of car do YOU drive that you can stop in an instant??? Last I checked a car going even at 40 can't stop on a dime...they move quite a bit... How about the kid IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD..on something that IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE!?!?

When these kind of things happen, I try to not be completely mean, but hey. Maybe he'll learn a life lesson from this.

Seriously. This horrendously childish "Dumbass got what he deserved" attitude needs to stop. Wasted time? Really? That's the least of their concerns.
I forgot to mention legal charges for the dangerous situations he caused to himself and others.

I feel sorry for the driver (the kid can get stuffed) because if the kid gets seriously messed up from this than the driver is probably gonna be beating themselves up over some idiot who thought they were better than the rules.
