Moffat makes people wait for Doctor Who because it takes him a long time to butcher continuity.
Doctor Who doesn't
have proper continuity. It's a show in which time paradoxes can occur and history changes.
There is a difference between events changing and just how things work. Like they established Time Lords can shrug off radiation like it is nothing and even in some bad cases just transfer it to another object. This was established by Tennant and then Moffat freaking killed Tennant with radiation...wtf?!
Hah, no. Misunderstanding. I can see where you'd think that. They could take
an amount of radiation. Timelord bodies are highly-adaptive and very capable because of their biology and the regenerations. Why? Very simple. The time that a regeneration can last - without injury and sickness and bang-ups - is measurable in thousands of years. That's
per regeneration. It is a FACT that they can still burn out a life much quicker though, beyond the threshold.
Example? Jon Pertwee, third doctor. He went into a chamber on Metabelis 3 which irradiated him far too greatly for his body to handle, the energy killing off his cells even as he spoke. The only reason he ever managed to get back to the TARDIS was due to sheer will and strength belonging to that of a Timelord. In "Smith And Jones", David Tennant absorbed radiation, but you have to understand...he was burning away a portion of that body's life. When he confronted Rassilon and the Master? He'd already done a number of things, none the LEAST being that he jumped out of a spaceship into a building in a manner that would've killed a lesser being.
AND THEN, while he was already weakened and shocked that he had survived the WHOLE encounter...four knocks. The radiation
finished him off.
