How is that a fad?

Also, the world probably won't end. Hopefully. ..Please stop the nukes.
I don't mean a popular fad. I mean the spread of the idea that the world was ending.

I've telling people that ever since this whole 2012 nonsense started up. People have been proclaiming the end times since they invented language.

Very true, ppl never stop going on about how the world will end. I say who should care, brooding over the inevitable or the unchangeable is a pathway to insanity so I try not to think about it.

always love predictings of the world ending since
1:anyone of us can die suddenly,be it a heart attack or a plane crashing and just happening to fall on your house so these only take the surpise out of dying and if you think you need to "live it up" on your last day than you should have been "living it up" you entire life(which could of ended any day of your life).
2:I can't wait, living sucks. So much work, eating, sleeping, staying healthy its all takes so much effort I can't wait till the day I get to stop all this strenuous labour. When you realized and live by this life certainly becomes easiser.

Shit, are people still listening to the "the world is gonna end" crap?
Why are people so damn gullible?

Now the only imaginable reason I can think of is World War III, with nukes.
And even then it would just be the end of the world "as we know it" Humanity would still survive, although there'd be a lot less of us.

Ah, I see. It just sounded as if you were calling it a fad. Sorry.

Fear not, 2012 nutjobs! Well, there is an easy way to make the world end in 2012. Just rearrange the calender in the next few years so that the official year 2012, as marked by the calenders, lasts for around eight billions heliocentric orbits, by which point the sun would have expanded and the Earth would be destroyed. Job sorted.

I've been thinking, Sarah Palin actually has chances on becoming president. Now giving the fact that she....well she's stupid and besides all that she's a religious nutter....She might actually fuck up America if she does become a president. Now if Americas fked, the rest of the world will follow soon.

Damn in 2012 we might actually be on the brink of destruction.

Good to see that others have brains...the only way the world could end is a nuclear war right now.

Still, on December 22, 2012, I'm going to go out and laugh at all the idiots with their signs.

I hate end of the world prophecies, I mean does the human race really have no aspiratons for itself that it has to hope and pray for it all to end? Who says we can't eventually evolve into a society like star trek or star wars, why do we always have to be teetering on the edge of oblivion. I suppose it comes from a fixation on our own mortality that we've had since time in memorial.

I have great hope for our race, and hope to be alive the day we get off this god forsaken rock into the universe so people will shut the hell up about it all comming to an end. "OH MY GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!" "So, we've got like six others we can go chill on" */pimpslap*

Yeah, the world sucks right now, but its going to get much worse before it gets better. Oh, and if I hear my family say that Obama is the anti-christ one more time I swear I'm gonna go Jason Vorhees on their ass. People, if you think that something could be the end of us all just remember that history shows us we've made it through much worse things than an economic depresson. Don't sweat the small stuff, it'll kill you in the end.

Don't forget nanobots!

There's that belief that they'll eat the world into a gray mush.

I'd never heard that Nibiru one. Either I've been living in a hole or it isn't very popular among right-headed people. Personally, I don't see how a magnetic pole reversal would wipe out all life on the planet but I'm no scientist.

One other theory I heard is that there is supposed to be a massive solar storm around 2011/2012 with the potential to fry all electronics on the planet. Basically, the earth has an invisible shield that fluctuates between weak and strong that protects the planet from solar flares, but our shield is at a weak stage and the flare-to-come is supposed to be one of the strongest recorded. I, personally, would welcome the universe hitting the ol' reset button because that's just what this planet needs ^_^

The LHC seems flat out inconsiderate if you ask me. If something has the potential of destroying the world, even if it is unlikely, then you probably shouldn't do it.
The probability that the LHC is capable of destroying the world is similar to the chance of burning the whole thing down with match.

Also I forgot about the Solar Storm one. I suppose its a possibility, but it could only be a threat if we're stupid enough to leave all of our eletricals on when it hits.

The LHC one was just a bunch of idiots screaming at the mention of black holes and ignoring what the whole thing entailed as well as the fundamental idea of black holes. Also religious nut jobs threatening to kill scientists before the destroy the world. The LHC does in fact present no danger at all.

OH MY GOD!
Election 2012 is so disorganized that it takes over a month of recounts in every state until-
BAM 21st of December she is declared winner.
