I see that it's getting a lot of (possibly deserved) ire for being 'generic'. Like many others have said already, none of us (probably) have played it yet, so we don't know how generic it really is. I'm saying that to be fair, because I personally think it'll be a pretty standard FPS, but we don't know yet.
Also, a good friend's husband works for Kaos, so I'm inclined to be charitable towards the game.

I'm waiting to see some more, and get an overall idea for the game. Since my B-day is monday, I might pick it up that week. I just wanna know if the multi-is any good since, FPS single players tend to be fun the first time through.
The funniest thing about is that apparently none of the haters takes the effort of actually arguing with the reasons that many professional reviewers gave this game such high scores. All I see is "these scores are high, this is bullshit" instead of actually looking at the reviews and dissecting them. Agreed. Half of them see the scores and don't even look at the review itself. If you look at the XboxAddcit review, while myself only read tid bits. Hell the spanish review is 4 pages long. I doubt if the game wasn't really good. They wouldn't have put so much effort into the reviews.

This game suffers from a few things. Its trying to be 3 things at once. Well really only 2 but it seems like 3
It's pulling a Red Dawn from the other side of the United states and making the player character a Gordon Freeman while trying to be a military shooter in the likeness of Call of Duty 4 and beyond while also being a hitscan game like say counterstrike or day of defeat.
It's trying to be all these and can't decide on which one to be and it's foundation is collapsing on each other because it has nothing to say for itself in terms of the single player.
The Multiplayer has to be really really damn good to save this game from being a devastating failure in my opinion.
