Nothing "trying" about it friend - whoever set Stuxnet loose on Iran got exactly what they wanted. From my perspective as an automation engineer, I'm just damn glad Siemens have been able to identify signs of infection - last thing I need is to put a system in place, have it running fine for a year or two and then all hell break loose and people dying as a result, and when questioned "Uh.... it wasn't programmed to do that" typically doesn't cut it as a response.THE_NAMSU said:You know, recently some people (claimed to be US and Israel) have been trying to hack into Iran's nuclear plants etc.
Technology is just too risky blad!
lol, why does that sound like the plot and tagline for the next big Hollywood movie?ArmorArmadillo said:I'm guessing that whoever pulled this off is far out of Anon's league. I mean, a huge criminal attack on a well-secured server to steal lots of information, this isn't some group of garage script-kids who got lucky, I'd bet my new credit card that this is probably part of a large overseas criminal organization.Coffinshaker said:yeah, this would be kind of a great positive PR move if Anonymous went after them! show us they're the "white hat" hackers they seem to claim to be.Delock said:I actually kind of wished we'd be seeing internet vigilante justice rather than official style.
After all, I'd rather see these particular people be on the receiving end of revenge fueled by rage rather than a paycheck (and because of the delicious irony of their punishment).
In theory the idea of garage hackers fighting off a massive criminal organization sounds cool, but knowing Hollywood it'd just be a generic action movie where every once in a while someone types on a computer and a door opens.Coffinshaker said:lol, why does that sound like the plot and tagline for the next big Hollywood movie?ArmorArmadillo said:I'm guessing that whoever pulled this off is far out of Anon's league. "The world is under attack! Cyber terrorists have broken into every major organization and not only crippled their servers, but stolen YOUR identity as well. But when all seemed lost, a small group of unseen heroes have banded together in their mothers' basements to fight for us all! Ignored by everyone, cast away to the shadows, they brandish their swords of code to restore global balance... and COD! They are... Anonymous! In theaters this summer!"
and what? you open doors with your hands? like some kind of common vagabond? lol!ArmorArmadillo said:In theory the idea of garage hackers fighting off a massive criminal organization sounds cool, but knowing Hollywood it'd just be a generic action movie where every once in a while someone types on a computer and a door opens.Coffinshaker said:lol, why does that sound like the plot and tagline for the next big Hollywood movie?ArmorArmadillo said:I'm guessing that whoever pulled this off is far out of Anon's league. "Yeah this is Chell, I work at Aperture Science, our AI is trying to kill me. Yes I've tried turning it off and on again. Yes, it's plugged in. How do I do a system restore? Okay I'm looking at a control console, it says "Select batch data", wrong window? Okay, how do I get to system preferences, wait I think it froze, there's this hourglass, okay, okay, yeah I'm still not sure what you're, you know forget it I'm just going to throw it into the incinerator."Coffinshaker said:and what? you open doors with your hands? like some kind of common vagabond? lol!ArmorArmadillo said:In theory the idea of garage hackers fighting off a massive criminal organization sounds cool, but knowing Hollywood it'd just be a generic action movie where every once in a while someone types on a computer and a door opens.Coffinshaker said:lol, why does that sound like the plot and tagline for the next big Hollywood movie?ArmorArmadillo said:I'm guessing that whoever pulled this off is far out of Anon's league. but yeah, tv and movies have a way of ruining everything... once, JUST ONCE, I'd like to see one of these super high tech computers with ridiculous GUIs get a blue screen or like complain about lag or something.
