Wow, when this first happened, i figured it was no big deal.. now this is starting to get serious.

You know, recently some people (claimed to be US and Israel) have been trying to hack into Iran's nuclear plants etc.

Nothing "trying" about it friend - whoever set Stuxnet loose on Iran got exactly what they wanted. From my perspective as an automation engineer, I'm just damn glad Siemens have been able to identify signs of infection - last thing I need is to put a system in place, have it running fine for a year or two and then all hell break loose and people dying as a result, and when questioned "Uh.... it wasn't programmed to do that" typically doesn't cut it as a response.

Anon didn't come forward and say "Yeah, our collective cock is bigger than Sony's" meaning it's likely someone outside your shores. That points to organised crime. That points to already having buyers lined up. That points to know how to avoid the enforcement agencies.

And let's assume for a moment that credit card details weren't stolen: Personal info was. Y'know, all the info that's need to facilitate identity theft (and decent documentation to go with it, documentation that passes more than a cursory glance)

So yeah, watch your account balances closely - watch your credit rating even more closely, because that's what's going to be damaged by someone half a world away using your name to transfer, acquire or launder funds.

I actually kind of wished we'd be seeing internet vigilante justice rather than official style.

After all, I'd rather see these particular people be on the receiving end of revenge fueled by rage rather than a paycheck (and because of the delicious irony of their punishment).

yeah, this would be kind of a great positive PR move if Anonymous went after them! show us they're the "white hat" hackers they seem to claim to be.

I'm guessing that whoever pulled this off is far out of Anon's league. I mean, a huge criminal attack on a well-secured server to steal lots of information, this isn't some group of garage script-kids who got lucky, I'd bet my new credit card that this is probably part of a large overseas criminal organization.
