I agree. I'm not gay, but I know a lot of girls who play the game, who may or may not be interested in this kind of thing. And, considering the excellent job she seems to have done, I say this: Fuck the trolls, bring back the mods, show your support to a woman who obviously did a lot of work in order to make a game more enjoyable for certain demographics. I swear these are the same retards that crap on the Wii, just because it caters to a different demographic doesn't mean it's bad in any way.

Unless you consider wierd 4Chan fetishes. That's the exception.

Just so that we're clear, it should be remembered that there are quite a few anatomically correct male body mods other than AlienSlof's. I use one, and it works quite well.

That said, obviously the harassment of this modder is completely out of line. I will add that I personally never liked AlienSlof's mods myself, though. I found them insulting, degrading, and objectifying. That is, they were exactly as bad as the torrent of equally insulting, degrading, and objectifying mods that fetishise female characters in-game, and I see no reason to discriminate based on the gender that's suffering objectification. I say this as someone who likes the vast array of female clothing mods around for Oblivion, but who wishes he'd not had to spend so many hours searching for armour for a female character that doesn't make her look like... well, you know. I found it quite depressing that there were hardly any decent clothing mods for dressing up male characters, and when I found AlienSlof's work was disappointed to see that it was every bit as disgusting as that which had been created for female characters.

That said, though, the reaction to her work is absolutely unacceptable. While it would be quite acceptable and indeed morally upright to criticise objectifying mods on feminist grounds, whether those mods target women or men, that sort of personal attack, and evident hypocrisy as regards the objectification of women, is horrible.

No, I didn't like her mods and I will not mourn them, but there should be a minimum level of respect given to all human beings. That this behaviour is a blatant double standard only makes it worse.

It is just so unfair! I liked her mods (don't you dare call me gay!) and thought that it was original that someone decided to create a mod that actually mods the male body, as opposed to the million billion mods that add ridiculously over sized breast or Japanese school girl uniforms, or anime crap! I mean just go and visit tesnexus.com and take a look at the top pics. I swear to GOD they are all pictures of nude women! Are the people who visit that site really so fucking desperate that they won't even give any attention to anything they can't jerk off to?
I believe that AlienSlof should ignore those loser-jerks and continue doing the thing she enjoys, MODDING!

I've got to admit, while it does seem odd for anyone to want to mod characters into nude figures, whether it's male or female, I can understand that everyone's entitled to choice, but I don't get why people would want to romp through a game with everyone else wearing no clothes on. It may provide a bit of tittilation and amusement for a few minutes, but after that, it must get boring.

To play devil's advocate, I do not think I could condone the idea that nude male & female characters should be made readily available on the internet for children to download & play on a game that does not have a rating. If unchecked, it can't be healthy. I don't know Alienslof's work, or any security checks she might have to make sure that kids don't get to download.

However, I agree that a vocal minority of small minded idiots have caused distress and upset over this. There is NEVER any excuse for bullying someone else because their tastes are different.

Personally, I offer another voice to support AlienSlof and hope that she gets the courage to beat these little scrotes, & re-post her mods (safely) on the internet!

I know that I'm screaming my rage at the storm, and I'll no doubt get a number of replies to the effect of "what do you want, there's nothing you can do". But when the bullshit gets this thick- when someone's health is affected simply because they don't cater to the whims of the "bewbz nau" crowd- I honestly have to say SOMEthing.

Indeed, thank you for posting this. Its always interesting to hear about different parts of the gaming community and the differing issues raised, and seems fitting for this site. Having not seen her mods, I will reserve judgment, but regardless she did not deserve this kind of abuse. No-one, on the internet of all places, does.

I came up with the theory that those hypocrites don't actually dislike the sight of a penis. It's just that they are ashamed to see a virtual man being better equipped than them.

No surprises here. The internet is made for anonymous bullies. That's part of its dubious charm. I can't blame her for taking it down. You can argue it lets the "bad guys" win, but I'm sure this mod didn't sign up for constant abuse. She's got a real life to live--and it's possible someone discovered enough to make her scared or else she feared they would. As a former fanfic writer, I've known of more than one person who's removed their stuff from the internet because it was going to be used against them in real life situations. Sexually explicit material may be artistic in fan communities, but you really don't want it running around in the general public.

It's not surprising that some men get upset at how men are represented in a game. Perhaps it was homophobia, but I think it was just the ridiculousness of it. "No man would ever run around with his package hanging out! And carrying a sword no less! No guy is that stupid! Stop it! Stop it this instant!" grow up, no, i dont agree with it, i actually downloaded one of the slof mods (i cant for the life of me remember what) and she did good work, but there is bound to be people screaming bloody murder about the whole thing, and thats okay, slof shouldnt have let it get to her, and you all shouldntt have been so quick to wish silence and death upon somebody who is doing the same thing you are: expressing their opinion (no matter how spiteful, if a nazi makes fun of jews, you can make fun of boning his mum, its fair trade)

Spamming her e-mail and essentially stalking her is not right. These weren't maturely thought out negative criticisms they were outright harassment. I've used a few of Slof's mods myself, although I found most of them not to my taste.

There's a big difference between expressing your opinion and personally attacking someone.

I don't think it's a matter of every character in the game being naked. It's just a matter of characters being naked when you remove close and armour. And it's all, as far as I can tell, actually more about making the models look better and not just playing with the vanilla ones, that in my opinion leaves something to be desired.

If I'm wrong about the point of the mod, pleas correct me someone.

What I don't get is that the people complaining would be guys themselves, so it isn't like they haven't seen a penis. Are they just worried that the video game representation of them are bigger then their own? Or are they under the assumption that only they have a penis?

Couldn't have said it better. mind you however it's not the penis their afraid of. It's that they might be attracted to it, so they are blocking out all sight of it.
