17, I was at a Christmas party where they were serving some "lemon mint juniper" that was basically bourbon and other stuff that made bourbon taste a little tangy. It was a fun night, although I don't drink anymore.

I also can't help but notice the number of bleeders that refuse to entertain the idea of ever drinking. I can understand for the people that grew up with alcoholics, but I get the impression that some take that stance based on being annoyed at drunk people and deciding to take perceived superiority over trying something new.

Lets see, the first time I got drunk:

*I talked a lot of shit & did some up-front real world trolling that thankfully doubled as amature stand-up comedy.
*My fellow drunkards went to a miniature golf course/go cart place & had the time of our lives. Not only did we throw up all over the go-cart tracks, but some of our golf balls ended up hitting the peoople on the "Ultimate Rush" bungee thing in front of the Reno Hilton. (The green area is the golf course) http://visitreno.com/hilton/map.jpg
*I seriously concidered hitting a few young girls with the golf club.
*We went to the truckee river area in downtown Reno where all the goths hang out, wandered around like tourists, & ate at some place called Jacks before wandering around the bizarre UNR campus.
*Slept throughout the entire next day. A few friends told me they had fun, others told me I was a total *****.

I have not, do not, and will never, drink alcohol.

I am a posi-core straight edge (a non-violent stance that is unfortunately necessary to clarify due to poseur thugs). I'm fine with others drinking, but it's not something I want to do.

i actually have an alcohol allergy and get sick, not drunk. but it sounds fun, good for you. i won't envy you in the morning, though-if a hangover is anything like what i've experienced from the booze alone, you're in for a rough day tomorrow. i recommend alka-seltzer and powerade.

Not sure, it was either a formal afterparty when 15 where I drank a third of a bottle of whisky and around a sixpack of beers, I don't remember much and I vomited. Or when I was in Italy and drank a whole bunch of wine bottles with an American guy who was in the same bus tour as us, I was 15 he was 17, while our parents chatted, we drank all the unlimited wine (part of the paid trip).

The funny thing is now a days I can drink a lot, it's frighening. I drank literally a whole slab of beer at a 21st. That's 24 cans and around 30 standard drinks from around 6pm to 4am. Did I vomit? No. Did I make a fool of myself? Probably. Can I remember everthing that happened? Yes. Did I pass out? Yes but only after climbing into my sleeping bag and swag.

Another I can't put my finger on was when I transitioned from hating beer to tolerating it to loving it as I do now. But when I was around 16, we used to drink "till the beer tastes good". Around 18 I drank when at clubs and stuff, because I didn't mind it. But now around 21 I love a cold beer every now and then.

I have never been drunk and never will be because I refuse to willingly make myself act like a complete idiot, no matter how much pleasure it gives me.

To all those who will never drink, all the power to ya, but why are you posting on a thread that's obviously not in your interests?

OT: First time I got drunk wasn't really all that special. I was 17 and it was some random party, ended up talking to people more then I normally would cause that voice in my head was singing about Ireland. Overall a good experience.
First time I got drunk on tequila, well, I ended up in a shopping cart with a pirates hat, telling a buddy of mine to load the canons. Woke up next day in the university drunk tank. Overall a hysterical story to tell others, but not something I want to repeat.

my first experience drinking was freshman year high school with some friends at a park, it was pretty fun just fucking around with friends, drinking and smoking, it's an experience i enjoyed and will remember for a while.

it also makes me wonder, whats so great about cigarettes? i mean i smoked a few that night, and only felt a very small buzz, which may have been from the drinking, not worth getting addicted to in my opinion.

The first time I got drunk I ended up reading a book about how biased modern media is. Then I rocked the Scrabble board.

I don't think I know when I've gotten properly drunk, except for today, I was stumbling and making good points about things that weren't too important.

?I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.? - Frank Sinatra

Not a fan of his music, but he makes a good point there.

Never gotten drunk because I never had a drink. Made it kinda funny when a friend of mine challenged me to a drinking game and he got hammered after a few rounds while I was drinking soda the whole time.

Do you not think though, that you should at least try something once?

Not at all. What's the point of doing something that is pretty much only harmful, and could potentially have many negative consequences?

Not if it has potential to hurt me, I don't

I'm with this dude... and the reason is because of the OP. Why would I ever not want to have control of my actions like that?
Because the real advantage of getting hammered is that alcohol is the most general of all neural pathway effectors. The reason we've been brewing the stuff for millennia is that it cuts right through all those little tiny inhibitions that you have, so that only your strongest (or most basic, in some cases) feelings can prevail.

The last time I got drunk, it ended with my brother and I in an existential, contemplative discussion about the aggregate vs individual nature of the Self. I had been swimming around the idea for a while, but couldn't find the right tangle of words to put it into a conversation. Two Amaretto Sours later, stuff was right cleared up. It's not all vomit and breasts, you know. Why do you think alcohol is often used in religious rituals?

Alright so I can't quote everyone here in one join post everyone will just have to bear with me.
Okay so I was a level 1 drunk last night according to someone's scale.
And my stance on drinking is in moderation, a little drink every now and again is alright. I'm not the type to go out every week and get drunk, I've drank maybe 4 times in the last 5 months. That's all I've ever had. And IMHO it's okay to have a couple of drinks with a few buddies, it's safer and waaaaay more fun.
And you might get laid.
Yeah!
And non drinkers, I wa once one of you, but I just decided start after I saw the dead poets society for some reason.
Basically, you have to do stuped things on your life, it's compulsery, it's no fun playing it safe all the time, risks can be okay.
Course I'm not saying go out and try heroin and just hope you don't get addicted, just have fun!
Fun? Remember that? It's awesome!
And in my own defence about the thread tittle, I was still quite drunk making this.
