Horibble Ports for PC

Transformers War for Cybertron while not a bad port controls or stability wise it is very poor optimised and is the one game that I can't play on my laptop. Exmaples that will play with just below acceptable frames would be Skyrim and I tried BO on it to see how well it could run it.

The original prototype. It played and still does play awfully. Its pretty clear no effort was made on optimization.

OT: Prototype, I managed to walk forward 50 metres before giving up on it.

Huh? What's wrong? I don't have any lag, the controls are easy... I'm confuzzled.

I have like 15 frames per second, and my PC can play Witcher 2 on high. Not to mention that I shouldn't have to change my sound settings because the game operates at a bad frequency (and it seemed to be a prevalent problem). I haven't tried it since I switched graphic cards though to be fair, but I don't really want to.

The only game I've seen that is absolutely unplayable on the PC was the MGS2 port. There were missing textures and everything. It felt like an alpha, or a bad emulator.

Exactly what I was going to say, the piss poor frame-rate on what was decent hardware at the time really annoyed me but not as much as crashing to desktop/BSOD each time I quit the game.

MGS1 on the other hand, that was an excellent port.

Saints Row 2... Yeah, thats a hard one to beat.

I'm playing that right now and I don't know if it's just my old keyboard or I need a patch but when I'm driving, the game tends to just stop the vehicle all of a sudden and during my last session the turning began to stop responding.

I found the syndicate port to be annoying, mostly because having a joystick plugged in made all the prompts be for a nonexistent X360 controller. Speaking of that, getting BF3 to run with a joystick was a fucking pain. Unbind all controls for airplane/helicopter. Install joystick. Rebind all controls. If you have two external control devices: fuck you.

Pretty much anything made by rockstar. Never had a single one of their games work properly. vice city had a really bad sound problem, san andreas had a ctd which was unavoidable and only 10 minutes into the game, gta4 was horribly optimised and l.a. noire is incompatible with most nvidia based laptops. So yeah, I'm never buying a rockstar game ever again.

Why? Because the morons who ported the game didn't even allow the bloody mouse to be a part of the control scheme. I can't believe the publisher wctually released the final product.

Borderlands, the pc port was shit, it used gamespy and it wasn't until a patch a few months after release that it was actually playable multi, the interface was crap, somehow they forgot that a mouse tends to have a wheel. Fortunately it sounds like they are putting some effort into the pc version of 2.

I hate games that basically require you to get a controller for your PC just so you can play them.

Most PC gamers have gamepads because not all games are suited with Mouse and Keyboard, for example Super Meat Boy, it basically tells you at the start of the game that it will suck on the mouse and keyboard...

1, I don't have a gamepad. So, I am part of the minority here? All PC gamers I know don't have one.

2, I beat Super Meat Boy with the keyboard. I like it better with that, rather than a gamepad.

Battlestations Midway/Pacific - weird, unintuitive controls.
Saints Row 2. Almost gamebreakingly bad driving controls.

the part where you have to climb up a shaft with your spider mounted minions. That part is almost impossible to do with a mouse. I never actually got past it.

Oh dear god that. You know the sad part. Even with a controller that part is just horrible. I had it on my PS3 and dear god just no. I actually liked both games but that part just...did anyone even try it? I refuse to believe that was play tested otherwise one of the testers would have immediately beaten up the developer responsible for it.

2:Mouse and keyboard promts.
3:Resolution options.
Etc
Basically all pc options you need are in the config menu.

Using the config tool will not magically make it stop being a shit port.

Actually since I updated to my new computer it dosen't have any issues like my old one did.
