So, I just finished watching Samurai 7 and I have to say it was a terrible ending,
4 of them die and they were all my favorite characters
A good ending should wrap everything up not leave more questions.

Code Geass did this too, (dont read the spoiler if you havent finished the series, I want you to be as pissed as I was)
Lelough dies to "attone" for his sins, and yes the writer did say the anime was over, its done, fin, there is no bringing it back.
the ending left me screeming at my computer. The writer completely sacrificed the story for artistic vision.

Anybody know any other animes that do this? (end badly that is) just so I know what to avoid.

Berserk's ending pissed me off. I mean, what the hell, the series was basically just getting started and then it's over? That was a rip.

Air Gear... Goddammit... Why make an anime in the first place if your not going to finish it?

I liked samurai 7 ending, it was really sad, Kyouzo (think that's how you spell it) was so awesome. But I can see what you mean, it feels a bit like Call of Duty 4.

I hated Vampire princess ending... i hated the series in general so what am I talking about.

Kenshin had the most unsatisfying bullshit ending as well. The last episode looks like it was done using paint.

Most people qualify Evangelion as ending badly. And not just badly by the standards you list, badly by the standard of "WHAT....THE...HELL... JUST HAPPENED".

If you want to know which ones to avoid you can always look up "Diabolus Ex Machina" on tvtropes and look under Anime, that should pretty much cover it.

A.
How exactly does Samurai suffer from a bad ending because 4 out of the 7 "samurai-s" die and the whiny little kid gets to live ("now, I would have prefer for this chump to die, because he is responsible for the dual-wielding blondie's death" If I remember correctly that is :()

It provide closure to the story, the era of Samurai was finally over. The bandits and corrupt government were defeated too. Closure. End. La Fin. That's what I call a good ending.

B.
For Code Geass, Lelouch became a Tyrant in the end. And the unified hatred of the world were directed towards him, just like he planned. His death set everyone free. Good ending. Closure. End. La Fin.

Bad Ending?

- Evangelion (And that's excluding Death and Rebirth + End of Evangelion), because it didn't make any sense.

- Claymore : Because it didn't follow the manga, and decided to ruin Rahki's character a little bit more.

Air gear was meant to be continued it just didnt have the ratings, so it was cut. Since american sales have been picking up the slack, Ive been holding onto a small hope that it start up again

School Days

Begins completly harmless, then one of them goes insane, the other becomes pregnant, the pregnant one kills the protagonist, and the insane kills the pregnant one, cuts open her stomach and looks for the baby

Berserk was just fine. It only covered a few chapters in a particular volume about Gatz's meeting with Griffith. And if I remember correctly, was pretty faithful to the manga, except Gatz's little pocket elf wasn't around during the first episodes, and was the sex-scene with the succubus missing as well?

I'm not a fan of anime at all, and racking my brain the only anime I've watched right to the end are Akira (crummy ending in comparison to the rest of the movie, but not BAD), the Cowboy Bebop movie (which I remember almost nothing about), Ghost in the Shell (which was uniformly terrible, not just the ending), and Trigun (which did have a pretty bad ending, but the ending was only the end of the long downward spiral that started about halfway through the series).

I just don't like anime, I guess. Except Akira, it's pretty decent.

I demand you retract that statement. Immediately.

In truth, i don't watch much anime. But i know gold when i see it and will suffer no unfounded slight against it.

I prefer an ending than no ending! Inuyasha and others like it should have finished instead of dragging on with the same crap over and over again.

Beserk is a very long Manga series that still continues, even now. The anime barely even touched upon anything. Anyway, Rurouni Kenshin because it was to be longer (again, read the Manga), but they got to close to surpassing where the Manga was, and they didn't want to pull the infamous DBZ 5 minutes is 6 episodes thing, so they ended it.

One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach also come to mind. I mean, damn, One Piece is almost at 400 episodes

I'm pretty sure it was, or at least it was only implied, not shown. And I dunno, it was kind of depressing that they ended it right there, with Gutz collapsing in the void, and Casca getting "surprise sexed" by Griffith, it just left a really bad taste in my mouth. Granted at the time, I hadn't read the manga, so I didn't even really know what happened after that, so that didn't help much either.

Difference between Bleach and the other ones is - they have yet to finish Aizen arc. After that... Who knows. I guess it should be the end, otherwise it would just turn into Bleach Z or Bleach GT, where antagonist from 1st series is weaker than 3rd enemy in the last series.

*remembers how Son Goku killed Frieza in DBZ after... 20+ episodes, but in DBGT he killed him AND Cell in one episode, while being in a child form*

Not all good things should come to an end (r.i.p Code geass and Death Note) but all in all i agree dont ride it till it dies.
