I might somethings go out of my way to get an achievement for the fun of it but, I don't obsess over achievements. I do love the sound that you are rewarded with when you get an achievement!

Depends on the game. If they are easy achievements, I go for all of them or try to at least otherwise I just play through the game a couple of times and whatever I get is whatever I get.

I lol at my friend who buys/borrows games like Surfs Up for the Gamer Points because well frankly, he's an idiot.
It's people like that who inspired this thread. I had a mate who did the same thing, except he hired Avatar: The Last Air Bender (or something along those lines)

It seems achievements are really important to some people.

Started out not caring, mainly played multiplayer after beating a game on normal. After all my friends' gamer scores soared past mine, I started to care much more. However, I don't have to patience to get every achievement in almost any game. Except Fight Night Round 3, didn't even have to beat the game, only most of it.

Almost got all 1000 in Fallout before the DLC came out. Just needed Silver Tongued Devil and Vault-tec CEO.

It depends on how much I like the game to begin with. I won't play through a game I think is crap just to get the achievements. It's only recently that I've started to notice achievements and think about them a bit more. So I'm happy to play through games I liked again on my Xbox 360 to get the achievements, even if I've already beaten it on PC a few times.

Well, If they're not too hard (like killing 50K zombies)...
Mass Effect had some very good ones, as getting them allowed you to get bonus stuff in-game...

I typically go for achievements if they are reasonable. But annoyingly, most games have at least one achievement that is either insanely time consuming (such as Seriously) or pointlessly hard (such as most of the achievements in Guitar hero 3.) Because of this, I rarely 1000/1000 games, and so far the only ones I have done so are Lego batman and Wolverine:eek:rigins (plus dash of destruction and banjo-kazooie on the arcade).

I'm not too bad about achievements... but I do go kinda crazy at times... If I notice that I'm halfway to an achievement without trying, I'll go crazy and try to complete it, no matter how inane it is...

I use them as a way of stopping myself from buying too many games- every time I get a new game, I don't allow myself to buy another one until I have the equivalent of 33% of the G available in that game- very useful given my current state of unemployment.

Bit of a pain in the arse for Wii games, though.

And finally Call of Duty 4. They are completely correct in making a fun multiplayer game with no multiplayer achievements.
This, hard. Although for a different reason- they're next to impossible for any game a month after release. Unless the game has "of" in the title.

I only get driven with some games, i'm not driven in most cases. If the game was fun the first time around, then sure i'll go back and play for some achievements. Although, there are some good feelings of accomplishment felt when you complete a particularly difficult achievement.

I don't care, I might go after an easy one if it looks fun but other than that, no, achievements don't do anything.
