Crash Bandicoot and Spyro on PS1. I played those for the first time when I was 5 years old and just became addicted to gaming.

I remember there was a blockbuster down the street and I always rented Megaman7 and MegamanX over and over again. I still play them sometimes.

A lot changed...

For the PS1/PS2 era, I stuck to JRPGs, basically. The closest thing I had to a first person shooter was Ratchet: Deadlocked. I was so unskilled at genres other than JRPGs, that I had a ton of trouble with God of War 1 on EASY. A ton of trouble. These days, I beat Bayonetta on Hard, so I've come far in 5 years.

I got my 360 about 6 months after it's launch on the good word about Oblivion, and my gaming life changed as I knew it. I found my "Game of the Ever" in Oblivion. Picked up my first ever shooter in the form of "Prey", since I heard that you couldn't die, so I figured that to be a solid starting point. Thank god for that. Boy did I suck at the game. I died dozens of times TRYING TO GET TO THE POINT WHERE YOU COULDN'T DIE!

I wasn't online at the time, so I had Microsoft mail me a backwards compatibility update disc, and dived into Halo, KOTOR, and more. Not Morrowind, as it wasn't added to the BC log until 2 years later. And I had no mind for the PC version, thinking that my 2006 basic, run-of-the-mill home computer wouldn't be able to run it, and too lazy to actually CHECK if it could.

And people, I couldn't beat Halo 1 or 2 on Easy. ON EASY. I was having genuine TROUBLE with Halo on Easy. Baby's First Shooter gave me issues. And now, I've solo'd Legendary in Reach, and weathered 3 Call of Duty games on Veteran.

As for KOTOR, it was more than playable by a strategically raised JRPG hound like me. And after years of being the hero in JRPGs, it was time to be the villain. I was a massive dick to everyone that I met in WRPGs for a good 2 years, until Fable 2 came along and I decided to try the "What would I really do?" approach.

These days, I like pretty much any genre. I'm probably the only person on this site with gaming tastes so diverse and wide to have played the new Medal of Honor AND Persona 4. Two games that few gamers would ever have played, seeing as how one is another military shooter and the other is a niche JRPG.

Double Dragon, Rastan & Midnight Resistance in the arcades got me started.

Then I progressed to Street Fighter 2.

Got my first comp a year later which was a ZX Spectrum 128.

Couple of years later I got my first console which was a Master System.

Haven't stopped since.

Prepare for a brief life story lol. When I was 4 years old my family had a trip planned to Hawaii, which was a 12-14 hour plane ride. Now I'm sure anyone who has ever taken a plane with a crying baby or small child knows how easily distracted, and by proxy, how loud they can be. So my mom bought me a gameboy color to entertain me. My next system I believe was my Playstation 2, with Fifa 2002. Over the years I gradually played my PS2 more and more. The game that really got me hooked was the original Ratchet and Clank. I have played through every single game in the series, including the ones for PSP, quite literally 50 times at least. Eventually in 2007 I was set on the idea of buying my own PS3. So I saved up the money for it, and went out to gamestop on a Saturday night and returned home with a PS3, and Resistance: Fall of Man. Later that year around Christmas time, I picked up Call of Duty 4, which is still one of my favorite games to this date, and I still play it very regularly. Then I some how stumbled upon a Call of Duty 4 montage on youtube, probably some zzirGrizz montage if anyone gets the reference. Once Modern Warfare 2 came out I decided I wanted to start recording in the hopes that I might make it big on youtube (which has yet to happen lol), so I asked for a Pinnacle Video Capture for Christmas, and started recording and making mediocre videos. Eventually I decided to upgrade to a Hauppauge HD PVR, and I'm still making mediocre videos, but now! They are HD so the visual quality is quite nice. Well thats my gaming, and I guess also my youtube story! Hope you all enjoyed this presentation.

I started with both an Atari 2600 and an NES at my grandparents house until I finally got an NES for Christmas when I was 4. Then i got an SNES, N64, PlayStation, PS2, Xbox, 360, and PS3. It's only later that I went back and got obscure things like an Atari Jaguar and Virtual Boy. By the way, arguably the best version of Wolfenstein 3D is on the Jaguar!
