How did you discover The Escapist?

Saw ZeroPunctuation's second YouTube episode pretty much at random, and wondered why the hell he'd stopped updating about a week later.

Then I saw the whole "picked up by Escapist" thing and came here.

Matthew Sakey, who writes the column "Culture Clash" on the IGDA website (it's an excellent column) made <a href = http://www.igda.org/columns/clash/clash_Jan08.php>passing reference to the fact that not everybody liked Mass Effct. The link he offered lead to the ZP review of the game. After a few weeks of watching ZP and perusing the forums, I quit all the other forums I was on and took up residence here.

Yeah, Zero Punctuation. I found ZP a long time ago and only watched them. Some time back I started reading some threads I spotted in the 'most recent activity'. And only recently I decided to register and start posting.

How or why did you find out about the escapist or join it?

I found out after watching X-play. I saw the short "Zero punctuation" clips and was amazed. I tried looking it up on the net and I found this place...

Interestingly enough, I had read articles (yes, the articles) for over a year before regestering with the site as a user.

Gears of War 2, here. I'd watched some LoadingReadyRun before, but it took me a while to actually make the connection to Unskippable.

Oddly enough, through GameTrailers. Someone had posted a Zero Punctuation video early on and I searched for more of his work until I happened upon The Escapist.

A friend told me about Unforgotten Realms, and when Urealms.com stopped being updated, the site had a link that sent us to the Escapist.

A friend of mine linked me a Zero Punctuation review of Left 4 Dead a few weeks after it came out. Started watching other videos once he did that video with Graham Stark, got really into it, made an account to start commenting, ect ect ect.

My friend kept talking about this hilarious british guy that reviews games mercilessly so i got fed up with him just telling me about it and he showed me the re5 zero punctuation episode. and the lulz ensued.
