I kept getting linked to Zero Punctuation videos by friends, and I ended up watching the whole series one night and loved it. After that I started to look at other videos (Extra Credits in particular), then read some articles. Pretty soon I was visiting the site every other day.
Eventually I found the forums; not only are the Escapist forums the one place I've found where people can discuss video games without being plagued by trolls and flaming, but the discussions themselves are much deeper and more intelligent than any other boards I've frequented. I also love that they aren't restricted to discussion just about games - everything seems to crop up here, and it's all treated with the same level of maturity and respect for differing opinions (even when the issue being dealt with is really contentious). That's what made me want to create a profile.

Friend told me about the hilarious show on this site known as Zero Punctuation.
Few days later, I watched it...all of it.
Then I found out about the zero punctuation themed games available on the escapist and decided to get an account, just for the heck of it.

I don't remember how, but I heard about zero punctuation and came to check it out. I don't quite remember when, but unforgotten realms was still ongoing. And then I lurked around, reading all the witty things people wrote until a few weeks ago when I saw a thread, came up with an excellent reply, and created an account so that I could write it before anyone else.
Good old Yahtzee moved from Youtube to here, and after lurking for a few years, I made an account. (Like half the population of the Escapist. ) Seriously though, Yahtzee is probably responsible for 50% of this website's traffic.

My brother once showed me a Yahtzee video, loved it. Started coming to the site, watching other stuff, and sometimes reading some forums.

I was bribed to come here for the usergroups, and I stayed for the videos and forums. Also I forgot what I was being bribed with, and I forget whenever I am told. >_>
Came here when ZP started up then after years of lurking fourms and such i made a account so here i am today
My bro showed me Yahtzee 2 years ago and when I found the site again,I looked at the forums and found it a lot better then most.It is still true.
