My main was a white khajit stealth mage.

I made it a point to not level at all.

Breton Spellsword with big beefy armor. I walk in, explosions all around me. Undead assistants and Swordplay round out the character.

About 20 hours .played as a warrior ,mage and thief for about 4-5 hours each.
Realized that what ever i did I could never see all of the game without saying goodbye to my life.
so quit!

On the pc, with xpadder (360 pad), as a Redguard. Hacking and Slashing my way through the world leaving a higher death count hot shots 2 in my wake.

Damn the Deadly Reflex mod is good.

Get the Nehrim TC and play that, it's a much better game than oblivion. really.

Breton Spell blade class, Enjoyed the cookie cutter of heavy armor and blades along with spell casting abilities. Made it easy to go through the game safely and enjoy exploring. Currently level 26 and still enjoying playing until Skyrim!

Nord rogue... no serious, that wasn't my original intention, but I found the stealth bonuses so useful, so kept using them to sneak up and split them in half with a claymore or pepper them with first hit kill arrows.

Once I got the Nehrim mod I never even looked back to oblivion. True work of art.

Breton with a mix of blades, stealth, and offensive magic. That was my favorite file at least, my first was a straight warrior Redguard, and my latest major one was a Breton archer with defensive magic. Yeah, that one didn't go well.

Cato - Orc Fighter. Used anything in my grasp to beat the hell out of anybody.

Mickey - Altmer Wizard. Enchanter, and hell of a sneak. Avoid direct contact, but had an amazing electric touch spell I named "Defibrillator"

Gilbert Higgens - An Abject Failure. De-buffed him as much as I could and never used his major skills.

Imperial Warrior or Dark Elf Crusader.

More often the latter. I like being able to do a wider variety of things, so I'm averse to playing as a pure magic or pure brute force character. I also don't care to play as a stealth player, I prefer to the direct approach.

Imperial Assassin/Merchant

My highest skill was Mercantile at the outset, but so were Lockpicking and Archery. After training Alchemy a bit, I would often use poisons to stop enemies I couldn't handle, or lead them into dungeon traps and let those do my work.

Afterwards, everything I could carry was hauled back to town and resold, earning me a nice sack of gold each time.

My favourite character was made with mods, so i'm not sure it counts.
He's a custom race called Mystic Elf. He's a fighterclass specialized in Blade and Light Armour.
I also made another character that (same race) that specialized in Destruction. It played well with another mod called Midas Magic (everyone who uses mods knows this one). It has a magic attack that summons a pillar of fire which then makes a huge explosion. It wasnt overowered, enemies only lost about 50% of their health on medium difficulty (most of the times), and it can only be used outside.

As a sneaky dunmer specialising in alchemy and marksmanship, who had to run from just about every engagement after lvl 18 because I had realised too late that the game's levelling system is absolutely retarded.
