My mum and dad like 80s music amongst other things, and i've always loved 80s pop and rock music after listening to theirs.

They didn't at all. They thought that music wasn't worth spending money on. And when it was, it was classical music. Well, I guess they created my abnormal boredom that used to come up for years whenever I heard classical music. Luckily that's better now.

I don't know, non of my parents like the music I do, neither do my siblings or friends.
So as far as I'm aware, they didn't affect my choice of music.

My parents never really listened to music around me when I was a kid. Actually, my dad used to tell me that I would always say I didn't like music when I was younger.
I guess that's why my taste in music is so varied now. I like everything from rock, to hip-hop, to that 40's style music they play in Fallout 3.

I hardly know anything about my families musical taste. One of my brothers listened to hardcore and trance and the other to nirvana, U2 and garbage.

My father listened to nothing but 'Southern Rock' (CCR and Lynyrd Skynyrd). I KNOW he was the influance.

My mother HATED music and dancing outside of religious ceriomonies. It was like living with Reverend Moore from Footloose except... not christian.

My dad is a drummer and he eats, sleeps and breathes music. He nurtured my taste for music with things like the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The who, aswell as some great classical stuff.
I'm glad both of my parents are so musically minded, meant that I was exposed to loads of great music from an early age.

No except for music from the culture of the place they grew up in.

I think my friends effected my taste in music more
