I act differently and i treat people different. On the internet i am more likely to be open to discussion and accept others' views whilst offline people tend to be I AM RIGHT SO THERE with such seething arrogance that i can't even be bothered to try with them. People tend to be more sycophantic and hide who they really are offline, too. Someone may not voice their real opinion in a situation so as not to offend others in the room, or they may change their body language entirely to suit the topic of conversation or any signals they want to give to others - 70% of all human communication is through body language, after all. Also, i would say that on the internet we consider ourselves to be equal because there is no one defining feature, we are all a body of text. Take a racist and an African-American, offline he would probably spew hate at the man but online the racist wouldn't even know he is talking to that same African-American (unless otherwise stated) so really the internet is the only place where people are truly equal, and as a result, people tend to act like themselves and who they really are as they have no need for "protecting" themselves against anything, the internet is entirely anonymous and you are safe from persecution / ridicule / whatever. Of course, having personality disorders like AvPD greatly affects the difference as well as they don't really come into play online due to it being entirely anonymous as i said. (unless it's a different kind of disorder like dyslexia)
