Just now I was going through the forums here and found threads about the economy, tax and wellfare and war and so on and so fourth and I found them rather depresing to think that no matter whitch way we turn we shall always have a problem or bad situation so I have decided once again I want OUT! out of the world but short of dieing or going insane a permenant solution is not going to happen any time soon, so how do you escape from the world of cruel "real"? and if a permenant solution was avalabale would you take it?

I smoke weed and play video games. I wouldn't like to be in such a permanent state though, I'd much rather solve the problems in the world, instead of evading them. Maybe if everybody would have such an opinion (and instead of me, would actually pursue corresponding actions), the world wouldn't be so evil any more :).

Video games, music, and the written word have always been my outlets. Nifty websites like the aptly named Escapist don't hurt either.

heh, honestly? I play video games. That's been my release since I was a young child. From girlfriends who cheat, to jobs that lay off employees...video games have always been there, and as I see it, will continue to be there.

By playing violent video games, and shooting extremists. The first helps me escape, the second actually helps fix the problem.

i try to make myself as aware as I can be about everything that is happening, escaping it only makes me part of the problem.
In reality there is no long term escape. That being said my home is a haven to me, I am so endlessly grateful that I wasn't born in Burma or Darfur or Nigeria, that while I'm not rich I'm never hungry, that I have more clothes than I need and more gadgets, gizmos and games than the developing world combined!

While my life isn't perfect when I see it in comparisson to some of the world I feel like I have escaped.

I lie in wait for an oppertunity to get out my situation and do somthing about said problems in my own way. But...alas. I'm disgustingly good at putting things from my mind by occupying myself with some inane task. Games help, but I like doing other things like...cleaning, drawing, irritating my little brother, walking the dog.

I honestly to god have no way of aiding the situation in the world except doing the best I can for my family right now. It's a depressing and yet ironically comforting position, but It means my own life has been put on hiatus.

Thanks older generation, thanks for the royal screw up.

I don't - I delight in it's evil. I chuckle at each atrocity. I laugh manically as Israeli gunships strafe the West Bank, for I know that today's victims will, in the supreme, beautiful irony of malevolence, become tommorow's suicide bombers. I smile at cruelty, barbarism and war, for I know that all it will breed is more savagery.

I don't know if it's appreciating the irony, or simply being evil, or both.

I exist on a superior plane of consciousness which enables me to dip in and out of your human reality at whim.

Honestly? I laugh. Manically, and at very inappropriate things such as tragedies and the like. Bitter, cynical and pessimistic laughter. If I didn't I'd probably cry.

I don't vote for Democrats (ooh, wow, especially not Democrats) or Republicans. Unless, of course, you want more evil.
