In all seriousness, the world isnt that bad, look at the advancess, no more small pox, weve not had a plague in ages, world travel is available to more people than at any time ever, communication such as the inernet, phone sms etc allow us to talk with others thousands of miles away in real time.
Sure somethings are shitty but you have to look at the big picture. Things are pretty sweet.
Evil is subjective.
You can become an office worker who just gets on with his/her pencil pushing, twisted into to so-called normality, not questioning your government or world.
You can enjoy alcohol with friends and family, do it with your lover, play video games, read books, watch movies... in this day and age, the options available for entertainment are numerous.
I would seriously not recommend the first option.

Well, the world do sucks on so many points right now and we don't know when the world will be sucked into a black hole or hit by a meteor, but that could had happened a long time ago.bjj hero said:

drinking and laughing at tragedy. i know you shouldnt really but sometimes every thing seems so goddamm stupid and pointless, every mistake redone over and over because we never learn from history, that its laugh or go insane just trying to block it all out

Anyway, for escapism, I like to act. I hide away from the world normally but give me a stage and some lines to learn, and I am in my element. Acting is just perfect for me...
Perhaps you can change your perspective. What is good/evil is in the eye of the beholder. People can cloak their own pursuits in "goodness" and paint their opposition as "evil", but ultimatley people just want to further their own goals. Unfortunately many people do this at the cost of others. This makes life miserable for the rest of us in one way or the other.
I personally would love to live in an honest and fair society where people play by the golden rule (don't do unto others you that you wish not done unto you). They realize their actions have far reaching consequences and selfish behavior may hurt themselves or their loved ones (in the present and in the future). Also for people to understand the power eventually corrupts and it's best to hold on to it for a limited time. But that isn't going to happen.
I used to think like you. Sick of all the selfishness, greed, lack of compassion. I saw all the fighting as a huge waste. Why is one willing to take so much at the cost of others? But then I read "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene. The book talks about gaining and maintaing power, ways to attack and defend yourself from others. It gives historical examples of the laws he describes, then he goes into further explanation of the laws. The more I thought about it and recongnized these laws in my own life, I realzied then we are what we are as a species. I'm not trying to pitch the author's book or anything, but after I read it I didn't feel so bad. It helped me, maybe it can help you.
To bring out the Trekkie in me, I wish we were all more like Vulcans and used logic as the basis of our thinking. Remember the Vulcans were like us before their society evolved. Perhaps we'll come to a similiar evolution.

Whenever life hands me lemons, I cope by playing video games and online poker. Also, internet radio helps. And if I'm upset in a place without internet access, I drive, sometimes aimlessly.

hells yes I would take the permanent solution. I practice martial arts, play games, run, and weight train.
