"it makes it look bigger." Sorry, did I flunk at math that bad? Minus does not equal plus!!!
"it looks better." Well maybe it does, then again, it's going to be covered for 75% or so during your life, so who gives a shit?
The average life span is 67 years X 365 days X 24 hours = 586920/4= you have it out for 146730?
Do you walk around your house nude or something XD

Well genital mutilation is considered a human rights violation when its done to women, and I believe in equality between genders. If you want to take a knife to your own genitals that's fine though.
*sigh*

Not the same. Not even close. You might as well compare ear piercing to cutting off your ear and sewing shut the ear cannal.
you do realise that the most extreme male circumsision is FAR worse than the most extreme female circumcision right?

And that The current form of male circumcision is worse than some forms of female circumcision.

Firstly I will say, that this isn't what I expected to be commenting on when I logged in just now but hey ho :D

Now, in all seriousness, circumcision is all well and good if after the age of 16/18/21 the person in question says to their doctor "can I be circumcised?" or if the doctor MEDICALLY recommends it and he chooses to do it. However the circumcision of newborns is morally wrong, in fact it ought to be illegal and I must strongly protest at your defence of "Well they won't remember it" (Seriously? Hardly a water tight or intelligent rebuttal). The religious aspect only makes it more dubious as it then gains this air of universal truth.

As people have already pointed out it is similar and related to to cases of female genital mutilation where the labia of the female are cut away. This is only done because people thought that females needed to be circumcised as well as males due to it being a religious doctrine.

Also sexual activity with a circumcised penis can be uncomfortable and in some cases dangerous without extra lubrication than what is naturally produced, as the foreskin for some people simply slips over the forehead freely and this allows free movement during sex but if the skin is tight when aroused then there is no free movement and can lead to damage to both participants if sufficient lubrication is not used.

Finally, aesthetically I prefer a penis to look as evolution intended, but not quite warts and all :p

I remember last time this thread came up... Many people were banned that day.

For the record I dont care do what ever you want to yourself I am far too busy and self obsessed to care. Dont like it? I don't care. In the end it is your decision and if you feel so strongly you need to defend it then there is a good chance your not 100% on it or you wouldn't care so much.

Someone post that picture of the John Shepard "deal with it" picture for me please.

Appendix.
Exactly, you proved my point. The appendix is there for a reason. The reason is lost to us because we ceased to depend on it. The foreskin however fills a much larger niche in our life than the appendix, so naturally it'd develop into the perfect tool.

The appendix is a leftover, the foreskin is not. Thank you for validating what I said.

And fucking aesthetics is NOT a valid reason to chop part of their dick off. Why don't you let them grow up a little and then decide if they want a "better-looking penis".

Though really, I think it should be illegal.
Wrong, as scientific data proves multiple times [http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/07/070724113945.htm] and agree with one another [http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/04/090415074940.htm] that circumcision greatly reduces the spread of HIV from penis to vaginal intercourse, [http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/12/081217123819.htm] as well as HPV [http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/07/110728111545.htm]. However, with homosexual activity circumcision has little to no effects [http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/07/100722075011.htm]. Yet to claim it has no reason is absolute crap, and needs backing up before making such a statement.

Actually the medical community is conflicted in regards to the medical benefits of circumcision and there are multiple contradictory statements thrown around. No major medical institution recommends routinely circumcising newborn male babies to reduce the spread of HIV and HPV. Being circumcised does not mean you can suddenly not use a condom and it sure as hell does not mean you're not going to contract HIV and HPV when you have sex with an infected person. The safest way to prevent STD's are still condoms and the only way to reduce HIV and HPV rates is to educate teenagers about proper condom use and safe sexual practices.

The World Health Organization is the only major medical organization that supports the circumcision of AFRICAN babies in order to reduce the spread of HIV infections. A South African case study is actually challenging the WHO's decision to encourage male circumcision as a way to reduce HIV spread rates.

Still, a 6 year old won't be actively looking for sex and when puberty starts rolling in as long as teenagers receive proper sexual education you can bet your ass they'll be using condoms and condoms ARE the safest way to prevent STD's and unwanted pregnancies after all.
Well from what has been written maybe people who have been circumcised don't have sex as much as the average person, It removes a large portion of pleasure as it was used to discourage masturbation and such.
After I discovered that it decreased pleasure my opinion changed from on the fence to fallen in the pro choice pile.

That was a BS statistic I pulled out of the pouch of my uncircumcised penis! You get my point though.
And yes, I do.

You saying my Penis is ugly OP? :p

Cut is cleaner/more hygienic and is obviously easier to clean but being cut reduces the pleasure of sex because the end is not so sensitive.

My guess is because this is already a deeply flame deep topic and posting... propaganda as I would call it might not go down the best in this warzone.

Don't worry I knew you were not being serious.
I thin normally most people wouldn't even have half a % unless they sleep nude

I'm going to have to disagree with you. There are plenty of medical reasons to have a male circumcised:

http://www.who.int/hiv/pub/malecircumcision/infopack_en_3.pdf

http://www.who.int/hiv/pub/malecircumcision/infopack_en_4.pdf

These are info packets from the World Health Organization, which I think we can agree upon is a reliable source for this kind of information. I'll tell you to read the links if you want a list of all the health benefits of male circumcision but some of the highlights are:

-Decreases the chance of urinary tract infections of babies/children
-Decreased instances of cervical cancer in female sexual partners
-Ease of penile hygiene leading to fewer infections
-Lower rate of sexually transmitted infections
-Lower rate of penile cancer
-Helps prevent the spread of HIV

Now, I will agree that it is a choice, but I don't think that it should be either illegal or mandatory. I personally am very happy my parents had me circumcised.
I'm sorry, I just can't agree with this list. Every single one of them is a non-issue so long as you have some shred of an idea about hygiene. There is nothing here that can't be done by simply showering every day. Now, if you happen to live somewhere without running water, or live in a nomad tribe, fine, circumcise your kids, but otherwise leave it alone.

Oh yeah, one more thing...

Its easier to keep clean. Yes, it is. However because we live in the year 2011 and not the fucking bronze age with no running water, that argument is not relevant.
Same with halal meat. Useful during that age. Just a stupid tradition now.

A religiously based surgical procedure from the bronze age made without the consent of the patients before they're able to defend themselves is wrong regardless of gender.

2. I don't remember the pain.
rebuttal: If someone was raped using a roofie, does it matter? Even if they don't remember?
Your logic is equally flawed.

rebuttal: An infant lacks the ability to convert short-term memory into long-term memory. They also heal faster (because they are still growing rapidly) than an adult would. That means that their pain passes more quickly, and is forgotten without becoming a part of their personality.

Whereas rape, even while unconscious, is a terrible and scarring experience due to the feeling of violation. Just knowing you have been raped is terrible, even if an individual can't remember it. Also, even while asleep, an adult brain still records data - it still transfers that data to long-term memory. So even if you're raped in your sleep, part of that experience is retained.

So an infant will truly forget, whereas an adult cannot truly forget. Hence your point is not valid.
" Just knowing you have been raped is terrible, even if an individual can't remember it." Wat?
You serious? How can you feel terrible if you have no memory of it? To you it's like it never happened...

By the same logic, raping a baby is also fine.
No. Just, no.
