How do you feel about Duke Nukem coming out before Half Life 2 Episode 3

Ugh, STOP. COMPLAINING. About HL2ep3. It has been 3 years, okay? Duke Nukem had 12 years.

3 years isn't actually all that long to wait for a valve game, when it gets past 7 (TF2) that's when we worry. Until then it is guaranteed to come out and be awesome. Stop bitching. Please.

No we shouldn't stop complaining. Waiting 3 years defeats the entire purpose of episodic gaming. Instead of having to wait 5 years for a full game we get an episode each year. Valve just threw that out of the window, and that's ridiculous.

Episodic gaming is just a label dude. You can call it what you want but in the end the longer you wait the more polished and expansive it's gonna be with valve. Take the 'episode' names off them and all that changes is the mind set. If we referred to this as somewhat of an HL3 that just so happens to be a direct sequel to HL2 then you wouldn't be rioting in the streets, even if HL3 and ep3 were the same game.

It's a mindset dude, lose it.

They never called it "just a label" and it isn't either. It's pretty damn clear when you actually look at the games; they're cheap and short.

Valve wanted to go a certain direction with Half Life and failed to deliver, it's simple as that. Has nothing to do with a "mindset" or whatever.

Well it happened to Duke Nukem (complete with that picture of flying pigs on twitter) against all odds, so the gaming world is full of unexpected and very weird surprises.

Duke Nukem gives me a whole "i don't give a shit" feeling. What annoys me is that it is coming out before episode 3. Unless that's valve conspiring with 2k games, where episode three actually is Duke Nukem forever...

The time to wait for any game can only be judged when the game is complete and you know for certain how much time it was worth. Currently we know nothing about episode 3. For all we know it's the saviour of all mankind and we're sitting here bitching about how long it's taking.

So once again, Quit. Your. Bitching. There's no point arguing the time spent on a value you do not know.

We do know something about Episode 3; it's episodic content. The whole point of episodic gaming is the frequent release of relatively small parts of a game to avoid waiting 3 years for a full game to come out. And what have we been doing for the past 3 years? Waiting.

Valve wanted to go for episodic gaming and they simply failed to deliver, waiting so long on an episode defeats the whole purpose of it. I, and many others, wouldn't be bitching if Valve would've gone with episodic gaming in the first place or stuck with the format, but they didn't.

Valve can fix if of course, by simply abandoning the episodic format and announcing that they're making a full HL3 instead.

I care for nothing about Duke Nukem Forever. I never really liked what I heard about the first game, and I have no interest for any game in the series. Plus, the development time for Duke Nukem Forever was plagued by engine changes, stops and redesigns.

Half Life 2 Episode 3 is going to knock Duke Nukem's glasses off.
