Nothing is perfect, and what he brings up in his video's are valid interpretations as far as I'm concerned. Thats a critics job, to figure out what can be improved on...other than that, said critic is just giving the developer a hand job, and is theirfor not a critic.

It's nice to see someone giving an honest and hard look, makes my pocket change that much more worth spending. And it's funny to boot, so I see no problem.

HE usually gives good valid reasons about why he dislikes the game that I usually can agree with. I still enjoy the game, even though it does have it's flaws, and he does make them seem funny. I've seen some game critics that just point out that a game has flaws be complete idiots, expecting every game to be 100%, perfect, flawless.

In short..I still enjoy Yahtzee's reviews.

1. Spell the thread title correct. Even if you don't in the OP, just the title will do.

2) I don't really pay attention to his opinions and much as what about a game he points out.

I usually trust Yahtzee about most games he reviews. sometimes I grab and play games he pummels with his reviews, and mostly the games have a tendency to prove that Yahtzee was totally and completely right about them.

Soul Calibur IV was the only exception to that matter, I got and played that game, and unlike Yahtzee, I enjoyed it.

As an avid lover of JRPG's, I encounter this problem a lot. I'm used to it though. My 2 best friends despise JRPG's, so I'm used to dealing with it. Kinda just rolls off my back.

I don't really lick games that much, as it screws up my hard disk but if I did lick games and he hated them, I guess i'd be dissapointed, but shrug it off.

I tend to be a little disappointed, but he never really has an effect on how I view a game if I own it and like it already

The only time I remember him doing this was with The Witcher, and with that one it was pretty clear he'd just jumped in, played for a few minutes, made a quick judgment, and left; the game he was describing bore very little resemblance to the game as it actually exists.

I watched it, and basically nodded and remembered that he's much more of an entertainer than a critic. I don't watch ZP to figure out which games to buy; I watch it to chuckle a bit before I go to my international relations seminar.

...he's a critic.
Its his job to be a burning ball of hatred about what is put in front of him.
That's why people click, to watch him rip apart the newest game.

Pretty much that plus it's his opinion you don't have to like a game cause someone says it's good. Most of the time you'll end up disappointed

I remember that Yahtzee is a comedian who reviews things in a very objective, definitive manner for the comedic styling, but with a very subjective analysis, based entirely on his play style. Because of this, he sounds like he is giving a real review, but he is just saying what he likes. That's what he does, it's funny, and sometimes he has a point. But there are definitely great games which he is bound to not like, because he does not like those kind of games. He doesn't like MMOs. He doesn't like fighters. Storytelling needs to be meshed with gameplay. He prefers single player to multi player. And he knows that people like him because he is always abrasive. As such, though I vehemately disagree with him when he trashes a game I like, I think about that disagreement for about 3 seconds, then laugh at the review.

I don't even think it's his opinion really. If he hated that many games, he'd have found a new hobby long ago.

I feel violated. I go to my crying closet and sob for hours, gently stroking and comforting the Yahtzee doll I had made for the occasion out of an inflatable mattress, black marker applied to his likeness, a fedora, and an unwashed sock that he had "lost."

After we have made up through soothing words and tender loving, I place my Yahtzee doll back in its shrine made of recycled Fantasy World Dizzy boxes in a bed of fermenting Branston Pickle and go on with my life.

The wounds of our fight would remain a deep and lasting scar upon my heart, but I cannot stay angry at his angst-ridden British charm for long and so, for now, all is forgiven.

Of course, secretly, I pine for him to insult the next game I like.

I don't much like it when people agree with him wholeheartedly and use his words as proof. But regardless Zerop Punctuation is comedy and he is by all means entitled to his own opinion and he can make it quite funny. Besides given that he hates a lot of games I certainly don't feel like he is picking on my favourite games in particular, so I just roll with it.

Couldn't care less. I don't tend to alter my opinion of things instantly someone else doesn't share my point of view. Besides, if he doesn't enjoy something that I do, well from my standpoint it is his loss, not mine.

What does kinda annoy me is how certain people seem to feel it is their mission to spread the word of Yahtzee all over the internet. I see him as more of a comedian than a serious reviewer, so it does get a little old that wherever you go there'll be an army of people frantically passing off his latest opinions as fact.

Edit: Yeah, basically what Vrex360 said just before I posted. Heh ;;>>
