Actions speak louder than words.
Exactly, snog his/her face off!
Actually, that works quite well sometimes. It's just a gutsy move if you're unsure how they feel...Just don't lunge at them.

Otherwise, I'd suggest not being too overly-romantic unless there's a high chance they feel the same. If you go paint their name on the White Cliffs of Dover and they never really found you attractive, they could end up being scared or, worse, going out with you out of guilt.

I'd keep it pretty level, get into a situation where you know there's a degree of flirting (curled up watching a film, whatever) and then just say something that shows her how much you mean to her, even if it literally is just saying "You mean a lot to me." Just make sure to say it in the most dramatic way possible; everyone loves cliché.

Whoa whoa whoa, okay, now that I've actually stopped to see some of this responses I gotta make a real post.

Someone here said never write poetry, and then there was bury your emotions? These are some tradgically emotionally repressed people!

No games, no methods or approaches, SINCERITY is the best thing you could have goinog for ya, the greatest thing you can show her. Not to be coy or shy, but that you are GLAD to feel the way you do about her because caring for her makes you feel good. Sincerity, raw and honest.

Okay my new cyber friend, short story of me:

My name's Robin, I'm 20 and for 19 years i lived in New Zealand. When I was 19 i moved to America, met a girl, feel in love, NEVER told her how I felt because I had to fly back eventually.

So she gets married.

More than a year later I still can't shake this woman. Kept regular contact just chatting and all that. One day life and priority slap me upside the face, and I tell her I love her and just when I was expecting the "Robin, I'm married. And live 60,000 miles across the globe." She tells me, "I love you too."

I hope a plane the next day (which made my wallet cry like a little kobold) and went to her. We got married a month ago. And I never knew what life meant 'til now.

My point, NEVER hold back in matters of the heart.

It may just be the best thing you ever do.
