Clench my jaw and fists, take a deep breath, and move on. On a regular basis I'm getting burned and cut at work, so I've grown accustomed to that sort of pain.

As for psychological pain... well, that's an entirely different story my friends.

I don't ignore it, I embrace it. Pain is one thing that lets me know I'm still alive. In a sense, I view it as a good thing.
Does that mean I can go to your house and beat you to a bloody pulp? :D jk

I usually just try and keep my mind off it.

I just acknowledge that it's there and keep moving however I have to. Pain is annoying but it doesn't stop me.

Many years of S&M in the bedroom has made me enjoy pain more and more. So things like the dentists don't really bother me. Also great way to psch out someone your fighting by telling them you get of when they hit you :D.

I picture myself on a tropical island, bathing in the sun; the soft crash of the waves nearby, sipping on a cold beer and listening to Weezer's "Island In The Sun".
You just described my happy place (yep, including the Weezer song)... except replace beer with cocktail. I can't tan to save my life, but damn, that imagery is just the best when I want to relax or ignore pain.

I would rather you didn't. If you beat me that badly, it may be hard to look at it in a good light.

You'd also have to try and beat me up, something I don't know if you could do. :p

depends on situation. If I'm excersising, I use it to get angry and work harder. If I'm not, what rowing training has taught me is to just work through it

Pain is weakness leaving the body.
Pain lets you know your alive.
As a track and xc runner, you learn to love pain and use it harness every bit of strength you've got left to push yourself to go the distance.

If I know the source and its something that I can't avoid, I just ignore it. Focus on something else entirely...

Whenever I'm put in pain for any reason, I laugh. I don't mean to though. It just sort of comes out.

For physical pain, I close my eyes and imagine the pain as a separate entity inside me and then just picture it dissipating. I used to practice this getting into baths where the water is far far too hot for my liking but nowadays it works for a lot of things.

For psychological pain, bad memories and such.. I'm not sure what it is I do, but it works. I just kind of realise that all my memories are just points in time that are only existing because I'm thinking about them. Once an event happens, it only ever lives on as a thought, and thoughts just aren't scary or painful, they're just thoughts. I don't need to feel anything I don't want to.
