Well, there are some good posts and some bad posts. I think the general consensus of the posts is that either a whole lot of people will die, or absolutely everyone will die.
Of course, I have my thoughts on the matter.
Iran will probably bomb Israel. Every major government in the world will basically be shitting their pants with their fingers hovering over the "fire nuke" button. Meanwhile, the news that nuclear warfare has begun will cause such a tremendous panic across the entire world that emigration will skyrocket. Enormous portions of the masses will surge towards the third world countries, while international politics take on a new form. An urgent, hostile, yet cunning diplomatic form. Alliances will arise everywhere. The current political scene of the world will change drastically due to the redistribution of wealth, political agendas, and human persons. I expect this period will last for a few weeks.
After that, the piracy, human trafficking, illegal distribution of firearms and the fact that every country is walking on a political tight wire will essentially lead to hostilities on an enormous scale, and multiple levels of society. People will be murdering eachother to get onto ships going somewhere else. Ground warfare will be concentrated into extremely small areas (especially areas of the middle east) yet it will be brutal and advanced. Meanwhile, nuclear weapons will target just about every single on of the world's political and/or militaristic centers. My guess is that, at first, civilian areas will not be touched by nuclear warfare.
People often think of nuclear warfare as every city getting blown into smithereens. Unlikely. Not much is gained, and it pretty much royally screws diplomacy. However, Areas with lots of military equipment and manpower will be utterly obliterated. The military of WWIII will most likely hinge upon small, powerful, lethal groups quickly moving through areas, forcibly locking it down, and moving on to fight other small groups. There will be no D-days. Any area in which an enormous battle is being fought will be nuked by SOMEONE. Whether they be some crazy country with some nukes on their hands, or an ally of the defending country, or an ally of the attacking country, any enormous battles will not be spared nuclear destruction.
The world WILL NOT BE INHABITABLE AFTERWARDS. The Earth will not be able to cope with it. If anyone is capable of surviving, they would most likely not be outside, and they would be in one of the few areas NOT teeming with radition (if there are any areas like that at all).
Yes. Germany will be in it.
