We are into all the same stuff, video games, trolling, whatever. The 'relationship' part is a bit odd as I'm gay and he is hetero. He just says don't try to fuck me and we'll be okay.

Simple, why is your best friend your best friend? What are the key points of your friendship?
My best friend and I are best friends because of our mutual love of art, writing, and creativity in general. We both enjoy table top RPGs - D&D in particular - where we can write and act at the same time. We also both love to draw, and have worked on a number of artistic protects together that way as well.

Also, my best friend and I both love sex. We used to spend a lot of time complaining to one another about how dull our dating lives were. Then we had this crazy idea - why not try out each-other?

Best sex ever. ^^

We just celebrated our seven year marriage anniversary. We still write, play D&D, draw, and generally enjoy the arts like we did twelve years ago before we were dating (when we were just best friends and not lovers). We also still have a great and varied sex-life. ^^

So yeah, that's the story of me and my best friend.

Always having a good time, liking the same music, liking a good pint, always having something to talk about, always supporting each other through tough times.

Don't see enough of each other these days, mind. She's about two hundred miles away, and I don't have a car or enough money for train tickets very often. :/

We can talk to each other about love problems; we're different enough to interest each other but similar enough to have lots of things to talk about.
That's weird, I was going to say the same thing. Seriously, this the exact relationship I have with my best friend.

We used to date, then went to friends with benefits and then to friends. And then a short stint of benefits again. :p

Anyway, it's a weird relationship by conventional standerds but it works.

I just found out last night that it still works the same as it pretty much always has. We've always had a physical, sometimes sexual relationship, and there have been various levels of hurt and confusion at times (we dated once, and it took me forever to get over him)... but overall, we keep each other grounded. He's always been the one person I know I can talk to about anything and vice versa. We also have the ability to withstand long periods of little to no communication, meet up and get each other up to speed, and then everything is how we left it. We're a complicated pair, but it apparently still works after all these years.

My best friend is my best friend because he's my only friend who shares my interests and doesn't treat me like shit.
We met during Primary School, but he went to a different Secondary School. He's shit at keeping contact with people, but luckily he lives close to me so I can keep bugging him to come round to my house.
He's a great friend. Every time I buy a game I check if it supports split-screen Co Op so that we can play together, because he has a PS3 and I have an Xbox and PC. I just wish I could see him more often.

Not sure how high up his friend list I am, though. But that doesn't bother me.

I don't have one. My former best friend betrayed me a few times and after that I just didn't want anything to do with him. I still talk to him now and again but otherwise :/.

I met her in middle school and we just work because we both like the same games, both believe the same things, and are pretty much the only ones locally who aren't mostly retarded. That and we are pretty mellow people, the other people around here aren't

I have known my best Friend for 6 years, I'm pretty sure he really disliked me at some point for something.

But we like similar music, have similar religious views (I.E none), we do similar subjects (Chemistry, Physics), we like similar games (Fallout 3, Oblivion, Guitar hero), and he is about the only person I talk to on facebook. We are also both huge fans of Stephen Fry.

We were natural rivals. Thirteen years later, we're still bros. Even motivated each other enough to pursue our dream goals: my becoming a game developer and his creation of a world.

met him when i was like 5 (now 17) and we have been friends since then, we always seemed to hang around in different groups though, especially in high school, but we always went to each others at weekends etc, now we go to college together and i give him a ride everyday, and we are in the same classes all day everyday, sitting next to each other

come to think of it, it sounds kinda gay haha, but we are not,i can assure you

but yeah, we both like the same stuff, same music (metal, although i like heavier stuff than him), same games, same movies, same religious views

he has been diagnosed with depression and bipolar, but that never seems to be an issue when he is with me, like we will full on laugh and joke around together, so without meaning to sound like some saint, i do kind of make his life a little better, in the way that he is always cheerful with me. And it is better for me when he is around also.

In this past year, he just hang out with his goddamned girlfriend every single day. I'm lucky if I see him once a week.

But other than that, we met in preschool and I love his family probably more than I love mine.

Aww man, you're so lucky. My zombie companion kinda ditched me for his new friends, and my ex-girlfriend >.>

I'm not as bitter as I sound, honestly. But it kinda stings.

I never had a 'best friend' just a group of friends but as I'v gotten older (24 very old I know :p) my best friend happens to be my partner. We have been together nearly 5 months and are moving in together in September but he is literally someone I feel i have known all my life. We share a load of common interests and his laid back nature seems to work with complete opposite nature.

*raises a glass* To the future of best friends and games *drinks then passes out*

Music, substance abuse and a strange sense of humor. When you're driving home from a concert and joking that if we're going to crash and die, it might as well be to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and then putting said music on and joking some more about crashing and dying... well you know. It's weird... yet awesome.

I actually hang out with the guy more than any girl I've ever had. He's that awesome.

And buddy... if you're reading this, you're a fucking creep.

We just met in Year 5, after I moved. Since then we've been abusing each other left and right (he once told me 'you're fat, you're ugly and never going to get a girlfriend). We were both part of different groups but we'd always invite each other to things that each group was doing... yano. :L we like the same sorta things (I got a 360 because he has one) and we hang out most weeks, despite the fact we go to different schools. We've forgiven each other for a lot of shit over the years, but I think that the fact that we've stayed friends for going on 9 years despite being in different schools and in different groups after everything... I think it says a lot.
