He deliberately got himself banned because he was bored of the Escapist.Aethren said:I miss MaxTheReaper.
What happened to him?
Were they really warned multiple times, or were they just suspended, and put on probation for two incidents throughout the long time they spent on the escapist. Then you have to ask was it for a misreading on the account of a mod.maddawg IAJI said:Depends really, in most cases it's just a troll who has earned there ban.
In the case of Max the Reaper and No More Sanity, it's continuous bad behavior. Both posters were warned multiple times and they never learned their lesson.
If you behave yourself and follow the rules and guidelines, then you won't have to worry about a permaban.
He was frankly terribly tiresome to read.Suiseiseki IRL said:Let's face the facts. Max was a complete and utter asshole, but one cannot deny he was a big part of the community.
His problem was that he kept pushing boundaries and one several occasions overstepped the foggy grey zone between what is and isn't acceptable forum behavior, almost as if he thought he could get by on his popularity. I guess he didn't count on the Mods snapping back.
Ah! Me too! And I don't think anything that bad was said. I usually tend to like people I argue with; You were one of these people. Pimpeter was not. I dislike him. (That's about as much as I can say there without being suspended again.Puzzles said:Hey I remember when our little back and forth god us both suspended... I can't remember what was said but oh well.RobCoxxy said:Well it's ridiculously easy to get put on probation and suspended. So I'm guessing the answer is "Fairly easy".
I called a kid saying his life was over because of RRoD a "Pathetic little cretin" and got suspended. And I had a valid post with that statement in (nutshell) "There's worse things than RRoD."
Suspended. Lovely.
Wow, that is quite informative.Hope Chest said:I'm not sure I would say they were here "long"; they had a lot of posts, but the length of their time here wasn't remarkable.Sneaklemming said:Were they really warned multiple times, or were they just suspended, and put on probation for two incidents throughout the long time they spent on the escapist.maddawg IAJI said:Depends really, in most cases it's just a troll who has earned there ban.

It's not about those two, but about 'notable' users before them who were banned; it's a thread with a lot of replies from the mods/staff about these sorts of issues:Then you have to ask was it for a misreading on the account of a mod.
And then they get banned for their 'history', of bad behaviour.
Maybe I'm wrong; I dunno. That's why I ask. I find that reading plain text can be both ambiguous and misleading to it's meaning.

it's about the most informative thing I've come across as far as the real story about how bans and moderation work.
If you saw the posts that both members were banned for then you would agree with the call by the mods. The two were suspended multiple times and that didn't help. If you don't change you get banned. It's sad to see such big members of our community banned, but with such a following on the forums then they need to set an example on the forums.Sneaklemming said:Were they really warned multiple times, or were they just suspended, and put on probation for two incidents throughout the long time they spent on the escapist.
