I get into games a lot, mainly Zelda Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Bioshock, GTA 4, Silent Hill 2 and oddly, Sonic 3 & Knuckles but those were more a "Frith-on-the-hills this buttwipe killed my character's love interest/hurt a character I love/lied to me/tried to destroy the gameworld and I must beat his ass down" kind of emotional.

Half Life 2 episode 2 ending.

End of Prey, I cried tears of joy because it was finally over.

The ending to Prince of Persia (2008) made me weep a single, manly tear. Forget the opening act in Up; if this doesn't make you tear up, you have no soul.
Actually the combat system in that game made me come closer to crying than the story...

If you enjoyed the ending then check out Ico, it's a similar kind of thing but much more subtle and moving.

What game are you talking about?
F.E.A.R. 2, half life 2 ep 2 and mass effect, i didn't want to just ruin all of those games by saying exactaully what happend for people that haven't played them yet, so i was being really vague
Oh well thanks for clearing that up for me you had me confused.

I've played Ico, and I'm trying to get its angry little bastard child to work; sadly, I've yet to work up the guts to fork over $100 for a PS2.

Yeah it sucks that backward compatibily seems to be unimportant to Sony and Microsoft. At least with the 360 you can dwonload some of the old games from Live.

If you do get it working then you're in for a treat though, Ico isa true classic and I even preferred it to Shadow of the Colossus.

Well...

When I killed Florian the Elf/Emperor Solarius at the end of Overlord 2 on the hard difficult with only four greens, a blue, and two reds left, I did shout at the screen "YEAH! That's what you get, you homosexual animal rights bastard!"

The Darkness. Right at the end of the first chapter. That entire scene was so well done. I didn't cry (I've only ever cried twice ((and manly crying, at that)) during the ending for The Crow and Donnie Darko), but I was close to shedding a tear.

.
That scene was harrowing... I was frantically bashing every button on the controller trying to break free and actually exclaimed 'OH NO!' out loud when I realised what was about to happen...

By the way what an awesome game. Storytelling was fantastic and moving, and Mike Patton rules the Earth.

I don't want to sound like an emotionless bastard, but I've never cried at any flim, game, TV show/series or pretty much any media. I just never could understand how I could get worked up over what is essentially not existant. If anything, I probably miss out on a better, more emmersive experience because of it -_-
Would you count anger or joy? I've felt anger at some characters, for example the first assassination target in Assassins Creed, who for very little reason than his own pleasure ends up cutting his aid and a family man up around 20-30 times. He bled soon after himself.
Anger... what videogamer hasn't got p*ssed at a game yet?

I have cried in a total of 3 games. 2 of them were Metal Gear (2 and in 4) games and the other was in Kingdom Hearts
2 and 4 only? Surely this means you never played 3... right?

Only ever MGS4; When Otacon was explaining to Sunny that Snake wouldn't be around any more and again when the CQC hug happened (who remembers the credits and being uninterested, then seeing the name "Big Boss" and a voice actor?).
lulz, CQC hug. And yes, I think we all had the intended "WTF moment" during the credits. I nearly jumped out of my seat.
Yes I did play 3. And, no I did not cry in that one. Not really sure why, I just didn't. Yeah, I felt really sad for Big Boss at the end, but not enough to cry

The Brothers in Arms series was quite unnerving. To invest so much time and emotion in the characters for them to get picked of one by one. Even more so since it's loosely interpreted on real events.

But besides that games haven't really hit me too hard.

The ending of Loz:TP, the forest and ending scenes of FFX, and that one scene underground (you know what I'm talking about if youve played it). Oh and is it just me or did the ending scene of Castle Crashers sadden/filled one with rage?

My favorite game of all time, Ace Combat 5.
I was nearly crying when Chopper got killed, and later on in the mission Sea of Chaos when the enemy forces defect to your side and the inspirational music comes on over the radio. That game is a masterpiece.

And of course all the MGS games have some pretty emotional moments.

In Dark Messiah, Xana was such a wonderful character. I wish there was a girl in real life like that who lived near me, I would ask her out.

I'll get into games, mostly FF or other RPG's, so much that I actually beleive I'm there. I laugh, cry and celebrate with my companions as I traverse many dangers along the main plot. I'm wierd like that.

When your dog dies in Fable 2 its really depressing. It was kinda annoying when hed just bark over and over about some treasure you dont even need but playing the game without him actually sucks. Plus he sacrifices himself for you so its even more emotional.

And Forge in Halo Wars. Seeing his empty cyro tube close at the end was a pretty deep moment
