I have Pokemon Snap on my Virtual Console (a fact taht I am only somewhat embarrassed to admit to) & I named my character 'Fucker' because I find it sickly amusing to watch Prof. Oak say "Hello there, Fucker!
did the same thing in legend of zelda except i used ****, asshole, douchebag, and ******.
trust me, nothing else is funny until navi in the opening scene in ocarina of time say "hey, ****** wake up."

.....god i miss being a kid XD

I named Cid of FF7 to Captain, just for his speech the moment you've named him.

"Hi, my name's Captain, but some people call me Captain."
I did this except with RED XIII (named him Nanaki) and Garnet/Dagger (FF9, named her Garnet).
Both have the "quote our given names against our real names" moments and I find it mildly amusing.

I never liked screwing with names. I dunno, sometimes I take games too seriously.

But this friend of mine once named Amarant from FF9 "Homo". He then introduced himself to the party: "They call me the Flaming Homo".

My friend and I laughed so hard that day. =D

I once named Link Smely in Oracle of Seasons, which provided amusing results for the intro scene.

I was hoping for a time when Onox would walk in and give this menacing leer in his armor, all intimidation and strength, and then make the quip that would forever shake your mind... "Why, hello.... SMELLY." Some sort of Garland "Knock you all down" effect.

Never happened, but I still managed to get a girl trapped in a tornado, screaming out "AAAAAAAAH! SMELLY!"

OT: Nope - Im a good boy!
where the hell is that from?[/quote]

Yahtzee's "Tabula Rasa" review.

OT: I wish, but I haven't.

EDIT: Although my friend called himself "an innocent puppy" in some multiplayer shooter.

"You have been killed by an innocent puppy."

I named a Guild Wars PvP character named Combibo Meus Gallo. (That's Latin.)

No idea if the grammar was actually correct.

I find it amusing to name characters various pronouns. It can really fuck up the dialogue at some parts of the game.

In harvest moon, you'd get to name you baby. I always named my baby dogfood and made him spend extra time with the dog
