Unless a game is mind-bendingly ugly, the base graphics of a game rarely bother me. HOWEVER, I have several fairly OCD criteria which cause me to stay away from consoles. A) If the framerate is noticeably choppy, or below 30fps, it frustrates me immensely. B) If a game is not as visually pleasing as it could be, i.e. graphics settings medium to low, it really bugs me on a level that is both irrational and petty. I must have settings on the highest to feel that I am experiencing the most the game has to offer.. I can handle it if I can't quite manage V-Sync or 8x antialiasing, but other than that, no. This goes for new releases as well as things 5-10 years old. And NOTHING bothers me more than a PC game with limited options for graphics customization.
