I picked it from when I became a frequent poster, I picked it because it was mildly amusing for a couple of seconds and i've had Pikachu with a gun since, i'd like to change it but I haven't got any good ideas on what to change it to sooo... yeah.

I've gone through ... about 5-6 avatars. Now my avatar is from Avatar (the real one, not this James Cameron 'name-steal'), though I'll probably change it again in a few months. I'm only really recognisable by my odd name, and only my friends list recognises that easily (and maybe Naheal and DTJ)

About 10 seconds. I just looked through a folder of them I had and picked one that I didn't hate. Personally not much into avatars, I simply dislike the "default" ones on web sites.

Probably even before I posted anything. I've done hell of a lot of photoshopping and I'm a visual guy anyways. There's no way I would use an avatar I haven't done myself.

I switched to this latest one just couple days ago. Decided about getting a new one, thought of a good movie and just did it. It wasn't long since I thought of an easier way to make animated *.gif:s so wanted to try out that as well.

Currently I have a new one in the making already, but it ended up having nearly 300 frames, so the compression to reach the file size limit has proven to be a *****.
