I keep games that have:

Strong/addicting multiplayer
Tons of replay value (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, etc.)
Sentimental value (Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, etc.)

I usually keep them. I've pawned a few, mainly during high school when I was poor and needed money, but they were games I'd either never bothered to finish or I knew I'd never play again. I had usually bought them used anyway, so I was only out like 10 bucks between buying them and selling them. Most of the time I keep them, just because there's not much money in selling them, and I buy few games so store credit is rather worthless. Plus the geek pride of having a collection. I've still got rather large amounts of PC, NES, SNES, N64, and Gamecube games. PS2 I never bought that many games for, and oddly enough they're the bulk of what I pawn since I never cared much for them. All my 360 games have been bought new though, and I'll be damned if I'm going to sell a 60 dollar game for 10 bucks.

I still have my old "PONG" console from 1977. I only get rid of a game if it's total crap.

Even when I was 8 and started getting snes games I kept all the boxes and manuals and sorted them alphabetically.

But there was at one point where a friend had told me a store would take my games and give me credit to buy new games and it wasn't a pawn shop. I couldn't believe it, anyways I ended up bringing about 6 64 games, 5 PS and 5 GB-GBC games and ended up with like 70$ in store credit and bought FFT and a memory card. Looking back on it I really really regret it, they were all in good condition and boxed.

Anyways I keep all my games now, I really wish EBgames had some sort of law that required kids under 18 to have parents with them before they can trade in stuff.

My current collection is rather lovely especially my snes collection which i'm addicted to.

I rarely sell games, cuz for some reason I always hold out hope that I'll find interest in them again. I still have a bunch of old game boy games, and a working original gameboy. I also have a pristine N64 (pristine with a lot of dust) and several games for it.
Funny thing is I've touched neither in several years, except for a few occasions when I temporarily had no use of my current consoles.

I've still got the discs for the games I bought when I bought my first PC back in 2000. I used to have a bunch of PS1 games but sold them in 2006 when I needed to raise money to pay rent during a period of unemployment.

I only buy games that i know imma keep for a long time. Games with long lasting a appeal and that i'll wanna go back and play again.

Also if the game has a good online multiplayer its a huge selling point for me.

Sometimes i'll buy a game that i thought would be really good but thenw as dissappointing and take it back..

I usally rent before i buy though..Because i only want games i know are worth the money

Well, let's put it this way- I've got a couple boxes of 5-1/4"s for my C64 in storage someplace along with my NES carts, my collection of Apogee shareware is in a drawer about 4 yards from my computer and the newer stuff is within arm's reach.

I'm definitely of the pack-rat persuasion.

some games, only until I beat it...even some games I loved, like assassins creed had very little to offer me in the way of replaying it, so they get the axe fairly soon...( a major reason I started using GameFly to save alot of money)

yet other games I will just flat out keep even long past the consoles lifespan.

I keep pretty much all of my games. I did get rid of a few, Armored Core 4 which I never got into, and The Darkness which I didn't like (although I sometimes think back and wish I would have finished it first, it wasn't THAT atrocious)...

I'm proud to say I still own every game I was ever given, or that I purchased...that didn't break or get stolen.

For ever. Seriously. I tend to collect things by nature, so I own every single game I've ever had. Including a few my brother or myself borrowed from a friend who never bothered to ask for it back and it was forgotten about.

I keep them forever as every game I purchase I enjoy, I have yet to buy a game I hated.

I generally keep all my games. I only trade them in when I've sucked all the achievements out of them. Yeah, I should feel shame.

I usually hold onto them forever, even if I don't beat them. I'm thinking of selling Brawl though since it didn't live up to Melee's standards.
