the pack rat that I am? The only time I ever get rid of anything of mine is when I know what I'll gain in exchange is far better than what I'm giving up

If I beat a game I may sell it. But only if I didn't have a fun time playing it (forced yourself to play). A perfect example of this was Silent Hill 4: The room.

I never ever get rid of them, I have friend who keeps trading in games so frequently that you can never guarentee that he'll have them when you come over. It's like:
"I'll trade in Tenchu Z for COD:WAW."
"I want Tenchu back, I shall now trade in Halo 3."
"I will trade my copy of Soul Calibur 4 to get my copy of Halo 3 back."
"I want Gears of War 2, so I'll trade in COD:WAW Halo 3 and Tenchu Z to get it."
"I will now trade Gears 2 for Rock Band."
"I will trade Rock Band for L4D."
"I'm off to go trade L4D for a store discount."
"Hey... where did all my games go?"

He just keeps doing this, getting rid of his games then wanting them back and deciding to get rid of another game to do so. He is the absolute worst shopper on the planet because the way he does things and the rate of how fast he does it means he is essentially paying $70 dollars FOR A RENTAL. If he's going to take such a wierd approach why not just rent the games and save seven hundred dollars?

I keep every game I choose out because I like knowing that I have them and can always rely on that in case of a rainy day. That's being LOGICAL.

..besides I don't need to trade, I've got money pouring out the wazzo so (*blows a big fat raspberry*) to that.

i also keep all my pc games, as i just like having so many from over the years, and most shops dont let you sell them!

I always keep all games. I love having my little geek collection sitting on my shelf, which is incidentally almost out of space.
Same here!

I keep most my games. Though the thought of selling some hasnt crossed my mind, I sometimes give a game away if I know ill never play it again. (for example, I gave Rachet and Clank away to my nephew who got a PS2 for his birthday.)

Personally I keep the games upto a certain point, and I will get rid of games I don't enjoy or I stop playing. I ususally keeping games up to about 5 years max, more If I love it.

I dont keep the games unless I have the platform, with the exception of Harvest Moon and Red Alert for the Playstation.

Also I keep the game if I think its significant in any way, like Halo 3

Forever. In a box tucked away I still have my SNES & N64 carts, all my Dreamcast games, my Gamecube stuff and my PS2. One day I still intend to go back and finish Chrono Trigger and Shenmue 2....

I only keep games up to the point when I get bored of them, then I'll trade them in for another game.

I keep them forever.
I only ever sell the ones that really suck.
Last year, the only game I sold was No More Heroes.
I still have all my old games/consoles and games from the nes to the ps2.

I don't think I've ever sold a game to anybody/place. I have games from the NES that I still hold onto, even though my NES doesn't work anymore.
