I went out and got a 60G PS3 as soon as I heard about the compatibility issues. My TV sits too far from my PS2 to comfortably play with a wired controller (I don?t like 3rd party controllers) So I like being able to play PS2 games with a wireless. I can?t wait for the DuelShock 3. Also, if I can get one more console out of my already cluttered rack then all the better. Depending on how big my apartment is from move to move I have anywhere from 3 to 10 consoles connected to it, so backwards compatibility can be a big deal.KurtNiisan said:it's disappointing to see the number of people (in NZ at least) bitching about the drop of the PS2 Backwards Compatability, not many people realise that it's now cheaper to buy a PS3 and PS2 seperately than getting the original 60gb.
As for which version of a game I get. I agree completely. I generally buy games for the 360 because most of my friends have one. The only cross platform game I purchased for the PS3 was Virtua Fighter 5. It was out first, and generally when I play fighting games we are all in the same place anyway.
