There was a program on recently, featuring David Attenbrough, which was about overpopulation. To be honest, in my opinion it is irresponsible to have over two children. The population of the Earth has Quadrupled in the last 80 years, and by 2012, there is expected to be over 10 billion people. Its too much, two children at the most is plenty.

When State benefits become involved I'd say. Then it's too much.

Although families that refuse to use contraception are often much bigger, but 7 or 8 kids seems unreasonable to me. 2 or 3 maybe.

Orthodox Jews tend to have around eight kids, that sounds about right. It would be tremendous work, but you need someone to look after you when you can't use the toilet.

As the second-born of four siblings, I find everyone saying "three or more is too many" deeply saddening.

Then again, my two younger siblings are both cockbags, so maybe you guys are right.

One biological & one adopted.
Works out better for everyone.
it helps with our planet wide overcrowding and also helps those children that are in need, and it will prove the love of 2 people if they can help a child that is not their own

However many you can support, live comfortably with, and give attention too. The Duggers seem like they are balancing all of that just fine so I don't see anything wrong with it. Though I personally wouldn't have that many kids even if I was rich.

My parents had 6 kids (all boys) we lived in a very tiny house and were fairly poor. Though still for the most part...happy.

I had a little girl young and was convinced I'd never want more but now have another girl on the way. Pretty sure 2 is enough for me, though a boy would have been nice but 19? It's one thing to say as long as you can live comfortably (out of your own pocket I might add) but how do you divide your time between 19 children as parents? How can they all be treated equally? My parents struggled between just me and my brother

-.-

I guess at least 4 should be the absolute limit, but I feel adoption would be a better choice. In my opinion that is.

Three. Three is too many. Two is an ideal number, for if every couple were to have two, the population would remain stable. However, I realize that some people want to have multiple children for whatever reason, so here is what I would do about the situation. As Supreme Ruler of the American Empire, I would issue one "child-ticket" per person. This ticket would allow that person to have one child of their own (through egg-donors/baby mamas, if they don't want to get married or something). So when two people marry, they can have two children. However, if a couple only wants to have one child, or no children at all, they can sell their "child-tickets" to the highest bidder, so some other couple can buy up as many child-tickets as they please. You want to have twenty children? You're an idiot, but that's fine, get out your wallet.

I'd have 2 max. Don't know if I wanna adopt 'em or have biological children though. Well, I'd be happy to have both, a boy and a girl, so I guess I'll have a biological child and adopt one of the other sex.
