How many of you never get to go an Expo?

I live in the southern US. Away from pretty much anything major. My city only has about 60,000 people.

Sure, there are small little "expos and cons" but they're just that, small and insignificant. No "big" talent ever comes to them and there's hardly any number of people compared to something like PAX or Comic-con.

I get the feeling that the people who are always at these big expos, are the exact same people for the most part every time. These expos never move in location and so they leave out 90% of the population, while making it insanely easy for the same people who live nearby to just always go.

So how many of you have never been to a big expo? I'm one.

Well I have only ever been to one expo, which was the MCM expo last year in London.

And it was fucking awesome.

I'm going again this year next month and I really can't wait, I definitely recommend expo's to anyone involved in this sort of media involved in expo's, seriously its like being at a massive nerd party with just... everything.

I've never been to one either, Holland isn't very big on geek expo's.

And even if they were, I'd probably feel too self conscience to walk around there.

Well, I'm not even in the US, so I don't tend to go to PAX and the like. There are some expos in Europe but it's still too much investment than I'm ready to make. Although, I would have been happy to visit some conventions, assuming I had the resources to do so.

The only thing like that I ever went to was Quakecon, and only because I worked at id at the time and we were supposed to go. Never been to PAX or anything like that, though I would like to. GDC is weird enough for me, lol.

I used to be like that until I finally went to London MCM Expo when I visit my brother place over.
While I did experience it I thought it will be my only expo I will ever visit (I can't stay ay my bro place since he move to a different flat) however that MCM company had finally set one up in Manchester last year (alot close to me) which I had went to and will again this year (this time I'm going to cosplay).

I guess what I trying to say is don't loose hope, you will get to go a Expo eventually if you if you put effort into it.

Went to GAMEFEST last year, left quite disapointed

but a true expo like E3 or PAX? when they start bringing them over to Blighty I'd go in a heartbeat!

I don't go to Expos because they're social events, and if there's one thing I'm not, it's social. That and I'm poor.

There's MCM in London for me, which is still pretty far for me. Also I believe that at a con, you go all the way and cosplay. Seeing as I lack a costume currently, I'll probably not be going to this year's MCM.

I never go to expo's in the UK because I live in Newport, Wales, (a city of 20000) and nothing goes to my country's capital, Cardiff. I also can't be bothered to go to London for expo's as that's a good 4 hour drive away.

Tell a lie, I went to a motorbike expo in Birmingham a few years back. It was k.

Me, mainly because there are none in Finland and it just feels a bit overkill to go to Germany just for an expo.

I live in Canberra, not a lot of Expos around here. Might be going to the EBworld expo this year though.

There's no expos in New Zealand, however, I may be able to secure tickets to the New Zealand Game Design Expo coming up. Sounds like fun.

The closest one to me is Supanova in Sydney, which I keep forgetting to go to. Hopefully I'll remember to go this year. I've yet to actually go to a con though. SDCC is on my bucket list.

Well, we have Supanova and I think the RvB guys came down last year, but that's it.
