How many people would you let die so you could stay alive?

His choices are not my choices, yet, I would could not condone any murder and thus would try to stop him. Perhaps that would mean allowing him to kill me.
This is an interesting hypothetical situation.
Assuming I can't physically stop the man, I would let him kill as many people as he damn well felt like. Each day/increment of time he went out to do his killing, I would attempt to contact police, to get myself arrested as his accomplice. I would then, assuming that both of us were captured, (this lunatic is clearly fixated on me, and this is a weakness to be exploited,) I would cut a deal with the prosecution for a reduced sentence in exchange for information that would put the killer in prison for life without parole, or put him on death row. The list of murders he performed to "keep me alive" would serve to cement his guilt.
I will no doubt have to live the rest of my life with the stigmata of a man who "let others die so he could live," but I would still be alive at the end of it.

I'm going to agree with several others here, there's a few people I would die for, but unless he directly threatens them, you're all doomed.
Of course, we don't know if he's a good villain or not. If he's your typical mass murdering goon, he'd do it anyway and just likes lording the ability to make someone feel guilty and such over them. Otherwise, I'd just wait for a week or so, then when he comes in, I'd give him a Keldabe Kiss and proceed to put the chair leg through his throat while he was on the ground.

I wouldn't want anybody to die on my hands, so I'd try my best to trace him or hunt him down, with help from police of course. and if it turns out that he absolutely cannot be caught and my death is the only solution, I'd probably give in. Worst case, I'd be considered a hero for my sacrifice.

Is this a semi-realistic scenario, or are we just going full on fucking fantasy here?
