How many people would you let die so you could stay alive?

EDIT: Whoops.

I'd say as long as his stabbing arm doesnt cramp up, he can go at it as long as he wants.

If captured, then I take every effort to escape and kill the man. It is irrelevant to me if he murders anyone, and it is not my fault that he chooses to do so. I kill him because he threatens my life, and takes my freedom.

If I was free, then I do nothing. I arm myself, should it become necessary to defend my own life, but I do nothing to stop the man. There are people who are paid to do that. The exception would be if those threatened were precious to be, or if stopping the murderer would put me in little danger.

As many as it takes for me to figure a way out. If he does kill me, it's likely he'll repeat the pattern, as many serial killers do. That fucker is going down for kidnapping me in the first place.

Ss long as they aren't people I know (or if they are people I know, but I get to give him names), he can keep killing people. If you're outside my Monkeysphere, I mean more to me than you do.
Excellent Cracked reference there.

As for me, probably none. I don't think I'm important enough for others to die in my place.

All of them.

I can just resurrect them, and they can stop complaining about having to gather the remains of their vital organs.

Hm, Inform the police, put my feet up and let the psycho do his thing. As long as he leaves me alone. I'm not going to die or kill myself or whatever for anyone - unless maybe he went after my family. But it seems in this case it's just random people and my closest family can be put in protection if required.

yep, I agree, i'd not let him do it, I wouldn't want him killing the person who might save the planet from something, so I'd let him kill me insted

He can go ahead and kill however many he likes; he's the one doing it, not me. My only responsibility in that situation is to try to persevere until the cops find him.

This. Or at least, I like to think I would. I'd like to be "The Hero", but you really can't know for certain what you'll do in a moral crisis of life and death until the situation arises.

Anyway, assuming I do have a little hero in me, I wouldn't just lie down and let him kill me; I'd do my damndest to kill him (or at least maim him) with my bare hands before I died. I mean, how the hell do I even know he'd keep his word? He might do this to someone else after he finishes with me.

What is one more death amongst the scores of hundreds of thousands that die daily?

I'd let him kill as many as I need to stay alive, provided he doesn't target those I care about.

Zero, seems only fair

I suggest you change the murderer from crazy guy to magical force that can't be stopped, otherwise I'm fairly certain everyone would try to fight the psychopath, including me (I'm not dying that easy).

As long as they're random people, I wouldn't care either way, but if it's someone I know, a friend, a cousin, an uncle, my godfather, my parents, etc., then I'd gladly die to keep them alive. Or if it's possible, die tryin' to take down the bastard.

Call me hypocrite.

None, excluding the killer themselves. I'd be willing to defend myself against them if I had to, but my life is no more important than that of any other person.

Besides, being held captive by some homicidal maniac threatening to kill you all the time wouldn't be much of a life.

I'm a firm believer in not getting involved in situations. I would never directly harm someone, but given the option to cause harm to one to ease the suffering of others, I would not get involved. It is not up to me to determine who suffers and who lives. The only exception to this is if my helping someone would cause no harm to anyone else, in which case I would gladly help.

In this case,I'm not directly responsible for anything, and thus I would tell him to get the hell out and never talk to me again. If I see an opportunity to stop him, I will though. I am not afraid of killing a murderer, especially one who is threatening me or my friends.

But, assuming this is a black or white situation, I choose to live another... oh, 80 years or so.
