I've never tried to do press-ups until I collapse. I usually just do 30 at a time. Same for sit-ups. The key is not usually how many you can do but making sure you're doing them correctly to actually build muscle. I used to think I could do hundreds of sit-ups until I realised I was doing completely the wrong technique (you should keep a space about the size of an apple between your chest and your neck, not support your head with your hands and never fully relax so that your head touches the floor).
Oh, and I can run pretty far, I'm doing a marathon mid-april. 5km doesn't usually tire me. Though it's been a bit icy this year so I've only recently been able to run further than that (running long distance on machines can injure your ankles and if I slipped badly on the ice then I'd be ruined any way).
