I have 2378 songs. At least 500 comes from CDs. My family has a lot of CDs hanging around.

9031 songs in total, I have no idea how many are legal but it's about 95%. I use BitTorrent but only for albums, and only for albums from obscure bands (Stuff like Sabrepulse, Shy Child, Dangermouse etc.).

As for favourite group and song, Radiohead with Let Down.

Me personally somewhere between 2000 and 2100 and about 170 CD's, almost all legal (maybe like 6/7 copies, plus I've recorded 30-40 odd tracks from the net). My sister has roughly 1,400, though some of them are cross-overs from my collection so make that about 1,250. Then there's a load more CD's from my Mum and Dad, maybe about 70 in total. Then an insane amount of old vinyls, got to be a good 150-300 of them. So yeah, quite a few

My hard drive seems to randomly reject some CD's and not let them get uploaded to iTunes.

I have the same problem. Pretty much any Jimi Hendrix album has been renamed "untitled".
I have less than 1000 sing, I think. I'm a strange combination of selective and cheap.
