Well recently I?ve noticed that driving has hit my wallet harder than Chris Brown hit Rihanna.

We all know that it's hilariously expensive for an 18 year old to insure a car, even though it?s a 1.4 Ford Fiesta!

Any who, I used to pay £1.21($1.86) per litre but I?ve noticed that if I drive about half a mile away from where I live (Belfast, N.Ireland) I can get it for £1.17($1.80) which actually makes a difference.

So what do my fellow Escapists pay for it, if you don't drive...What do you Parents pay?

My calculated the £'s to $'s using Google, so if they?re wrong you know why.

Okay? Go!

Somewhere in between 11-13 NOK. That equals something along the lines of 1.2 pounds I think.

£1.15 a litre if I recall. Yay for living in the city.

(it was only a few months ago that it was 90p...and a few years ago we were genuinely shocked when it went over £1...capitalism at its finest)

You should probably convert to gallons as well for Americans' sake. There are about 3.8 litres in a gallon. So that's about $7.06 per gallon.

I think it's about $2.50/gallon here. That's about 43 pence per litre.
Edit: Revised figures after some Googling.

Don't forget the Americans do theirs in gallons or some non-sensical unit of measurement :p

I've found a sainsburys that sells it for £1.13 which is quite nice at the moment

It's normally about $1.45 per Litre for Premium (98 Octane) Unleaded. I pay around AUD$70 per tank (which normally lasts about about a week) for mine. Thats in a 2010 Mazda 3 MPS (Mazdaspeed3).

I used to have a Ford Fiesta - A little 1.1 that was more rust than car but I do miss the damn thing. Got it for free and spent £300 doing it up and it was still better than my new bag of shite 1.0 litr Corsa which is more like a crappy version of Post Man Pats van.

OP: Where I normally buy fuel when I'm at home it's about 114.9ppl but when I'm in uni it's 121.9ppl which is just nuts.

Waaay too much. 1.40 euros or so for 1 liter, euro 95. At least my car guzzles LPG, and that's dirt cheap.

In a U.S. gallon, yes, but in the Imperial (read: proper) gallon, it's about 4.5 litres per gallon. If we're not using the metric system, can we at least use Imperial measurements?

?1.33 or so per litre here right now.
You can, but you're going to have to sort out American gallons and Imperial gallons that way. Seems easier to just use American gallons seeing as they're the only ones who use them for petrol. Incidentally, Americans also call it gasoline.

As it is, calling either system "proper" isn't correct. They were both standardized well after U.S. independence and were based on folk measurements widely used across Europe and the original colonies. The U.S. system isn't some bastardization of a previously existing English standard.

The station closest to me is currently 116.9p for Petrol whereas the Asda (which I cannot use because it hates my card) is 113.9p.

Or the way I calculate it: Around £30 ($50?) per week.

Oh you're looking for price per litre .... I just put £20 worth in the tank when the light comes on. Oh here we go; £1.169 per litre.

About one euro. It's not much, but since income is pretty low, it makes up for being cheaper than in other countries.

£1.13/litre at the moment. If I did my weekly shop at my local Tesco and spent at least £40 I would receive a voucher that would let me buy petrol from their own petrol station for £1.08/litre. But it is always incredibly busy and I find that I don't want to hang around with frozen stuff in my boot (and the Tesco is 5 miles further than my local Asda, although the Asda sort of sucks).

It helps that I drive a tiny car (2 seater Smart) but when I used to put ten pounds worth in it would almost fill the tank, now it doesn't come close.

I think it helps that I live near a city and there is a Jet and a Shell just 200 yards apart so they have to compete.
