How much do you tip?

Never, I went to your restaurant or w/e and ordered my food. You're doing your job by taking my order and then bringing it out to me. The restaurant is paying your wages, why should I pay you more because you did what you're supposed to?

EDIT: If the owner/manager isn't paying you at least minimum wage anyways then you should complain. They have to at least do that.

1-3 euros depending on what it costs and how much i have. But thats only for deliveryguys, i usually never tip waiters, we dont treat them as slaves here so they dont need my money.Even the cheapest places pay them at least ~10 $ /hour.

This answer won on so many levels. Sweden is awesome.

On topic:

My tips (I'm in the USA, btw) are centered around 15% as a basic guideline.

I have a variety of tip modifications based on how the meal goes. (or service, i.e. massage)

When a server at a meal is not doing so well: I imagine the waiter's tip as a stack of $1 bills. Each time he/she does something that pisses me off, I remove one of these imaginary dollars.

Some examples of things that "piss me off":

-- After a server brings my entree, he/she fucks off for a very long time and doesn't bother to check on me or my table.
-- When I first sit down at a restaurant and have to wait more than 5 minutes for a server to at least say: hey I'll be with you in a moment.
-- Getting orders wrong. This might seem unfair to some people, but it really isn't. You know why? Because 19 out of 20 servers don't make even one mistake. period. This is probably because 19 of them wrote my order down in detail and the last dickhead was drawing fluffy clouds wishing he could go home.
-- Any unwarranted shitty attitude whatsoever. Again, extremely rare circumstances. I always treat my server with the highest degree of respect. (Because I do not ever want my food to be spat in) I have no problem tipping these people with a single penny.

On the flip side, when a server does well...

I begin to increase the tip! I use 20% for servers who put their best foot forward.

Finally, on rare occasion, when a server performs flawlessly and was fun to be with, I will sometimes double or even triple the tip. I think it is necessary to reward people for doing an outstanding job :D

For delivery, I tip only a couple of bucks because they already jack up the price for delivery. For restaurants, I always tip 20%. Then, if they go above and beyond, I'll add more to the 20%.

Of course, if in the rare instance, I get a completely horrible server (I'm not talking about bad food, because that's on the cook), I'll tip less, usually no less than 10%. If they are completely unredeemable as a server, I'll complain. I've only ever done that once in my life. But she bought our drinks and appetizers and then vanished for 30 minutes even after someone called her over. Even worse....she was the manager of the place. We got a free meal out of it.

I almost never tip, since:
a) I don't have enough money.
b) In Britain waiters (almost always) get a decent wage, regardless.

If the service is excellent, mind... all my change.

Waiters may be annoyed by my comments. I've worked for minimum wage cleaning toilets in the past, and you don't get tipped for that. Man up.

I try to break the "What's the difference between a Canadian and a canoe?" stereotype by tipping usually about twenty-five to thirty percent. More if the service was bad, less if it was good, obviously.

Generally just a couple of quid, usually more if its a nicer place. Tipping doesn't seem to be that big of a thing over here. Plus I constantly hear stories of how all the tips are accumulated into a bit jar and the manager or owner gets to keep it and the waiters see naff all, dunno how true they actually are but it always deters me. If I have a brilliant waiter or waitress then I want them to get the tip, not the owner of the restaurant who was likely out playing golf at the time.

If its a taxi I generally just round it up, to the next pound, if its already a pound number... unlucky I guess, I probably should work on that, fumbling round for change drunk in a darkened taxi is awkward though.

huh...apparently I tip about 5% (most likely less than 10%) at a dine-in meal
like for a 8-15 dollar meal I'd probably just slap down $1, and if it's on a card I'd throw in $1 plus however much change is needed to even out the price haha

Very infrequently, I think it's dumb. It's funny I've had 3 restaurant jobs and I love getting tips but I never understood why. Why should I get tipped?

Pretty much this. Though I do always tip 11% (4 SEK on a 36 SEK order) in a particular pub because they've got really cheap Guinness and I want to encourage that :p

Well, did you provide better service to those you knew would be good tippers?

I tip like Dick:
