I played the Oddworld games as a child.

Nothing that could ever happen in real life even remotely fazes me any more.

Hurrah for italics abuse!
Amen.
Also dont play Silent Hill 2 when your younger than 10. Shudders.
oh and I keep hearing the ahivement unlocked bleep every no and then.
I played it at the age of 7. My world became a very scary place up until the age of 12...every corner had a bloody man in a butcher's smock there, I swear it.

Due to my addictions to FPS games, I have a habit of analysing every single route I can take, whether it be taking a left turn, or right turn, and seeing which one poses less of a threat. I've become an extremely paranoid person thanks to CoD.

I notice someone coming up behind me and want to switch to a flamethrower so I can perform a spy-check.

Ok, seriously though. I don't think I've ever done something like that in real life.

I make thousands of small, cheap objects in the hope that I'll soon unlock the ability to make something bigger. Sadly, thousands of cupcakes have not made me a world class chef.

This sounds like a good idea too.

Haha, yeah, those games are pretty fucked up too.
I'm running around in the dark murdering nurses with an axe, and this is considered a good thing?

i was in town one day going to get my watch repaired, when i dropped it off the man said something like "just leave this with us for a while and come back later ok?" and as i was walking out, for a split second i considered immediately going back in (thinking of the fossil resurrection process in pokemon) luckily, reality struck me just in time and i was saved from humiliation

any similar stories?
*You come back*

"Oh you're back! Good News Everyone! Wonderful news, your watch was not only repaired, but has been resurrected as a Omanyte!"

When I see my friends doing stupid sh*t in real life, my first thought is always "God, this AI sucks..."

Games have taught me not to let others see me when I'm approaching them (hell, I learned this back in the day with Pokemon). My friends and family really don't appreciate this as much as I do.
Especially when you shout "BANG!" while right near thier ear.

Thanks to dead rising, I can never look at malls, crowds of people, or certain objects the same as I did before.

I often find myself observing lines of sight as I walk down the street, and wondering where the camp spots are.

I also once passed a lawnmower and though 'blade for my Shishkebab!'

I have started using noob as a way to insult people every since it became an offical word.
Actually, noob isn't an official word if I recall correctly, but I use it too

Anyway there was this one time I was having a COD marathon, and when my dog walked into the room, I tried to turn my gun on screen to point at it

Also, I've started to use video-game metaphors, it's really bizarre

Any therapists reading this thread would have a field day. Some serious ammo here for the "games are bad for you" argument

Can't really think of any ways that gaming has affected my life tbh

I keep hoping I have my hearthstone in my bag and that the cooldown is ready so I don't have to sit in traffic. And when my flight home from chicago kept getting delayed I thought hey I have a flying mount, oh wait I am not 70 yet >.<.

I also keep an ear out for smokers, boomers, and hunters in the office. And I always know where the first aid kits and pills are

After playing Starcraft 2 for awhile, I have a bit of a nagging voice in my head that tells me I should be building probes every now and then. I'd be eating breakfast, and suddenly think "hey, is my nexus building a probe?"
