Most men I know agree, as soon as we notice your wearing makeup (or none sometimes) it is too much.
Good makeup is like a good soudtrack. When its missing you notice it but when its too much you notice as well. It should be there, but not so you'd notice, and really great makeup can help to raise your natural beauty by emphasizing strong points, just like music can swell at particularly awesome moments to really give that moment a particular extra something.
Agian, not noticable but there to raise up the good. Unless of course thats a style your going for, i.e. performer, goth, etc. then its about art which i cannot comment on. However there is a great quote "There is no beauty that does not have some strangeness about it." Look at Kiera Knightley, she works and she's just a face with no body, Scarlett Johansson's smile is jusr wrong somehowq, we don't admire thdem despite these flaws but because of them. Perfect is boring, so don't coverup flaws they are attractions in their own right.
