Haven't the scientists been saying that since day 1? Now I gotta ponder...AkJay said:Question: How much of science is fact?

Carbon dating is pretty accurate thanks to the laws of physics concerning things like isotopes and radioactive exponential decay.Bocaj2000 said:The idea of dinosaurs is also ridiculous. How can they date fossils? How do we know how accurate carbon dating is? Three million years is a long time and provides a large chance of error. The way dinosaurs look has changed a lot also. What was fact ten years ago is now outdated. Our knowledge of dinosaurs is changing at a steady rate. Theory that will never be fact is constantly changing and will always be accepted by the scientific community as well as the public.

Ironically, this is why science is the best way to discover the facts thus far discovered by man, specifically because it is open to revision as new evidence arises. Any system of "truth" which rejects new eveidence no matter how well supported in favour of established dogma is Doing It Wrong.Bocaj2000 said:What was fact ten years ago is now outdated. that's the point of science.Bocaj2000 said:Shit, forgot to say, i'm not questioning the ideas. I'm just saying how what we know is always changing.
Yep, it's called scientific progress.Bocaj2000 said:Theory that will never be fact is constantly changing and will always be accepted by the scientific community as well as the public.
Honestly, the best thing to do is to go out and read about the things you question (to question something you must also explore it, it's the nature of questioning). Once you've read about it the next thing to do is to go and try it yourself. There are plenty of places that will help you with almost any experiment you want.Bocaj2000 said:/rant
if you were a part of my imagination would that make you non-existing? if this is all a dream then this is what is and that's all that matters. It makes more sense to speculate about god, at least that gets you somewhere, (heaven, hell, nothing and so on) lol.Gormourn said:Okay, now how about this:
How can YOU know that we all exist, and that everything ISN'T your dream and that you aren't inside the Matrix?
Can you disprove that we are all product of your imagination?
Mathematics has proven this is false.alex1314159 said:Ok, so all of the science that has been proven is true. All of the science that has not been proven is not true.
