How often do you change your avatar?

Since [user]Sleekgiant[/user] made my avatar I haven't switched it up. I don't count seasonal variations.

Anyway it would look bad as the founder of this group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Immutable-Individuals] if I changed it.

I used to change my avatar every week. It was sorta my "thing" here on the Escapist. Now though, I mainly stick to ol' Vivi here. Although I still change occasionally when I feel like it.

I tend to recognize people here exclusively by their avatars, so i've stuck with this one for 99% of my time here so far so that others who do the same can recognize me better.

I had two avatars back when i went under the name of "seminoob22", one of the pyro from TF2 and one of Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series. About a month after i joined, i decided to change my name to "secret world leader" (shhh), and i've had this avatar ever since.

I feel like avatars are more of a symbol that represents you, rather than an image depicting you. The avatar is representative, unlike a profile picture. Thus, I feel like avatars should be changed far less than Facebook pics.

I started using this image of Azrael, the angel of death, back in 2008 on the MMORPG.com boards. Being rather fond of the symbolism, I kept it when they shut down the R&P section and I "migrated" here.

So yeah, not all that often.

I like to chance my avatar according to which album I'm currently obsessed with. So a few days ago I changed it to the latest Paradise Lost album, which is epic.

I changed mine only about 3 times. Before my current one (The Album Cover for an Album I've been working on for a while), was a Spy-like Character from an Escapist Film Contest I entered. Before that, it was a Box with a smiling face. And Before that... I don't think I had one before that.

Sadly, I don't have any of those old pics anymore, but I could redraw them so everyone can at least guess what I had.

Now, as you can see, my avatar is Lilly Satou. Why? Because she's amazing, that's why!

I think this is my second avatar on this site. I was inspired by 2X Double.

In general, I tend to stick with an avatar once I choose it, at least for a while. I would say I average a change a year or something like that, maybe less.

I am the same way I never change mine because it is a good way for people to get to recognize me and if I change it all the time people will just confuse me as 2 or more people.

I'll change my picture on Facebook when I get a new one I like, but when it's an avatar, I keep my first choice.

I generally try to keep up with a Pony avatar to show that I'm a fan, but every now and then I come across something too unique or adorable.
