I normally end up playing half way through but then the game loses it's apeal after it becomes a repetitive game. The story doesn't matter when after about 2 hours it is the same thing over and over. Particularly Crackdown 2, Red Faction: Guerilla, games that are sandbox but have a campaign over it. They just lose interest to me and I end up quitting. How often do you complete games and why do you typically stop playing?

I almost always finish the game unless it's completely terrible (I'm looking at you, Superman returns).

I'll get to the end of most games I play, but maybe that's just because I don't have much money and only buy games I'm pretty sure I want to see all the way through.

I complete games 20-50% of the time. I really enjoy campaigns that are only about 6-8 hours long, unless it is a very good campaign with an interesting story and changes throughout (fallout does this well)

Depends... Kinda varries tbh, all about the first impression I get from a game. Finished my first ME2 game in a few hours but im yet to get past the tutorial level of the witcher for example.

Generally I think I finish about 2/3rds of the games I buy

Completed each and every single player campaign from games i own. I don't buy a new game every few days, i pick what i buy and then enjoy it for as long as possible. When i ran out of games, waiting for new releases that actually interest me, i just fall back to MMOs, can't finish those but are perfect time filler.

With exception of indie games, if a game can't keep me playing for at least 10+ hours i won't buy it.

95% of the time I finish a game. I've never finished New Vegas because I got bored with it, I didn't finish FFXII or FFXIII because they were both, in my opinion, absolutely dreadful and I didn't finish Red Dead Redemption and then traded it in. Two days ago I bought it again because I realised I was stupid and that game is absolutely brilliant! Those are the only games, of recent memory, that I've never finished
Oh! And KOTOR. I got that game a year ago and have been slowly slogging through it but I just can't get into it. Mass Effect 2 is my favourite game, I also love ME1, DA:O and DA2 and Jade Empire is, again, one of my favourite games ever, so I love new and old Bioware but I just cannot seem to care for KOTOR...

I have a friend who can't play a game for more than two hours before getting bored and trading it in. It pisses me off and we all make fun of him for it

I beat most of them, because I don't like wasting my time with shitty games.

Haven't beat F-Zero on Gamecube because that was too hard, FF12 because that got boring after some time (it's like an MMO without human players --> stupid) and the first Manhunt because that was just plain shit. Atmosphere was good, though.

Nearly always. Occasionally I take a break from a game before finishing it when something else catches my eye, but I always return to that game later. The only game I have no intention of returning to is half life (the first), because I just got fed up with jumping around in the other dimension (and I didn't really enjoy the game anyway).

I pretty much have adopted a stance to finish a game before moving on to another one. It helps keep costs down for my gaming. And by the time i am ready to purchase another game, whatever i was looking at prior has usually dropped in price. The exception to this rule is fighting games though, as those you really do not "finish". And Pokemon.

I'd say about 40% of games I complete, however that's because I'm including all genres. I have a higher completion rate of RPGs and RTSs than FPSs and Fighter games.

Most of the time. If I play an RPG, it takes longer, so I take breaks when I play. For instance, I have yet to beat the main quest in oblivion, i've spent all my time doing the side quests (mostly dark brotherhood and thieves guild). Eventually I'll get to completing the game. Yeah, majority of the time I do complete the game.

The very vast majority of the time.

The last games I didn't finish was The Witcher, as the opening few hours were so dense(ly dull), and Fallout: New Vegas - although you can't really "not finish" a game like that, you just stop playing eventually.

I certainly can't remember the last time I didn't finish a game because it was too difficult.
