Just like all your failed relationships, the common denominator in that is You. Perhaps there's a reason behind it.

If you live in England do you think of yourself as polite, and how polite do you think England is?
I'm probably pretty polite. And I think on average, we're mostly polite. Its just a minority of arseholes who are inconsiderate. For example, half the people in the supermarkets on a night time. Seriously, lady, why the fuck do you think stopping in the middle of the aisle and blocking the whole thing is a good idea?

I've never been there so I don't know, but I do talk with some Brits on Skype at times and they are funny when they're mad. Nothing funnier than a ranting Brit.

I'm from Scotland and there's always been a bit of friction between English and Scottish, like for instance when I was playing MW2 the other night I entered a game and said "Hello" then about 3-4 english people began the stereotypical comments.

I'm polite, even when insulting people.

I don't think the English as a whole are polite though, I think it varies just as much as anywhere.

Hmm, my friends from Devon and Manchester are rather polite. Though I'm sure they could be buggers if they wanted to.

I'm English (from Sheffield if it makes a difference), and I'm pretty polite. I live in a pretty crap area, so most people I live near are chavs ie.not polite. However, at college and public places and all that, people are over-polite to the point where they'll say sorry if you crash into them. I do that too.

But like others have said, we're also veeerryy sarcastic. It's fun.
Heh, I do that too and I don't live anywhere near Britain. Though I am 1/4 British. Think it's hereditary? >_>

Most English people are grumps unless you get to know them a bit more. I am bias though, I work in retail and despise the chirpy happy chappy at 9am.

People are good with please and thank yous but it is rare that they really mean them, you are as likely to hear it from a guy about to stab you as you are someone who wants to come across in a good light.

I am suspicious of people who are overly polite; they are just after something.

Haha yeah we're super <a href=http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?q=kidulthood&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wv#q=kidulthood&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-GB%3Aofficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wv&start=30&view=2&qvid=kidulthood&vid=2797772934379845172>polite.

Most of us aren't like this tbh it just annoys me when people think we all say "old boy" and "whatwhat". I am neither like the people in the video or the people who eat crumpets. Weird, huh?

fairly polite, but not stereotypically so
we do avoid conflict where possible, unlike the yanks across the pond, suing each other at every opportunity

Well, I'm polite to people I don't know if I am welcoming them or whatever until I get comfy then I talk how I would to my friends.....I don't think many english people are polite, they're all a bunch of cunts to be fair.

I'm from Exeter and I don't meet many polite people if I'm honest. Most people are either arrogant rich brats or aggresive horrible chavs. The elderly (the supposed polite generation) are rude, racist, self-righteous and seem to spend most of their time 'accidentally' hitting people with their shopping bags and tutting under their breath.
Hello fellow Exeterian or whatever they call us.

Too be fair though most people around here aren't even English. Not that I consider that a bad thing. The Polish are fantastic to look at :D

Though for some reason, I watch my language on the internet. Very strange...
I think that's 'cause you can't get banned from life.

... Well, you CAN, but nobody will kill you or throw you in jail for swearing.
Actually in Dubai, you do get thrown in jail for swearing... Especially if you're English... One guy got a months imprisonment for giving a taxi driver the finger!

Ahh, well Im from the north, near Leeds. Leeds is probably the most unpolite town, its really bad.

Nothing can be as bad as London however. Everyone there just ignores you completely. When I went with school, this woman sold me a bottle of coke adnd she honestly looked like she wantedto snap my neck. Ive never been to Milton Keynes however but, no offence, it does sound pretty bad.
Nah Leeds is alright, I once jogged all the way through town, drunk, wearing a suit, looking for cigarettes at peak piss head time. Didn't get any trouble at all, even when I accidently ran into someone and knocked them over lol.

Yeah Londoners can be bad, you always know when your back in England from holiday, when your cab driver basically says, "Where the fuck you wanna be?" followed by "Alright, now sit down and strap your seatbelt on you cardboard cut-out ****!". He was joking but I suspect he meant it lol.

And no offence taken, Milton Keynes is a over commercial, stupidly expensive shit hole... Well it could be worse like the bad parts of Manchester but at least they have spirit...
