Simple: Give Shephard a star destroyer and basically make it that you can fly around, but also with other ships and potential space combat..for the hell of it ^^

I want the Mako back, and I want the actual explorable planets back.. but I thought the environments you had to drive the Mako in were poorly designed given the vehicle's capabilities and the more intricately designed ground missions in ME2 were nicer than the generic bases in ME1. So, really, I'm not sure what I would like to see. Some sort of hybrid of the two would be best but I'm not certain what form that should take.

Maybe just a combination of the previous systems would be best. Some ground missions were designed around exploration and using the Mako. Some ground missions would be the fly in on a shuttle tightly designed missions like in ME2.

As for resources, I would like to see more actual uses for them and I didn't really hate the scanning system for collecting them. Just streamline it and make resources do more for you and I'd be happy. In ME2 I really just scanned Rich or Good planets down to Moderate and occasionally Low, yet I still had far more resources at the end than I needed (more than 300K extra of the commons and over 100K extra of Eezo).

I kinda liked the mako when I pretended it was a boat (with pretty realistic boat motion), but but with the slowed down bullets in mass effect two, itll just be frustrating, (BRING BACK THE FUCKING FAST BULLETS)

OFF TOPIC: also I'd like the option of different armor, or even different clothing being worn in combat, nobody else seems to really need the fucktons of armor my shepard had, and I think the captains uniform world look awesome in combat.

He should become a God and fly through space, no ship!
Seriously, he's either going to become a God in the third game or he's gonna do an actual, proper suicide mission.

So, it's either ship or God!

Okay, okay... ship which doesn't require constant topping up.
That'd make me happy.

I say simplify the planet scanning by letting you scan 1/3 of the planet at once with a big scanning laser line, rotate the planet till it beeps or something, then shoot a CHEAPER probe at the planet. After one rotation just rinse and repeat a whopping 2 more times till the planet is done. Then on some planets, like at least one in every system the way it was in ME1, you get an area to go explore. However you do not explore it in the Mako. You fly around the planet in that little shuttle you had in ME2. The biggest draw-back of the Mako wasn't the driving, but the having to crawl up a mountain or take the time to drive around it. Flying solves that easily. And for flying shuttle battles you get some front mounted guns and maybe a cannon, but the side could open if you upgrade it and one of your team mates could fire a turret gun or something. Personally i think this would be the best idea most everyone would at least accept.

Also, when you get damn near every upgrade and are full on all but the ONE resource you still need and going dangerously low on credits you need to have a place on the Citadel or another place with a center of trade you can buy, sell, and trade your other resources and credits for the ONE you need to finish. Does anyone disagree on that note? Seriously, anyone who isn't going to do it just for the sake of arguing?

In a hybrid of all three walkers from Red faction: geurilla.

Imagine it, a heavy mech with a jump pack and dual rocket launchers.

The Kodiak shuttle was built for stealth, and it has very weak shields, so when you fire a gun from it, they will see you, shoot you down, and it becomes your coffin.

Don't you ever read the codex?

Of course you don't, nobody reads the fucking codex.

Except for me.

No scanning. For the love of GOD NO SCANNING THE GODDAMN PLANETS! I personally thought it was a lot more adventurous and intriguing when you could go on the planets and explore them in ME1. That immersed me in the game very well.

Shepard will ride upon his trusted steed, Garrus, as he does battle throughout space.
This.. This was the most amusing thing I have ever read in the past several months.
Thankyou sir.

I read that too. But I'm also of the mind the Kodiak (or something prettier) would be perfect for planetary exploration.

If you remember, killing anything with the mako cost you experience. So if you really wanted xp and were aware there was nothing in the game that couldn't be killed on foot, the mako segments were little more than long, dull, fully interactive cut-scenes. Whats worse is after a certain point the mako's weapons were worse than anything you had on foot.

So yea, give me a flying coffin who's only strength is stealth to zip around some randomly generated planet surface until I find something interesting. Then when/if I see something to shoot, let me choose where to jump out (similar to the mako drops) then give me a button to push to call the Kodiak back when its safe. I'm torn on scanning vs a pre-marked map, though.
It's good to know that someone else reads the codex.

And you do make a good point, but if you're just going to use it to get you to the fight, and then do the shooting on foot, why would you put guns on it?(not that you're the guy who said that)

I'm still lonely though.

In a PORTABLE UTOPIA MADE OF MAGIC AND BUTTONS.

/thread.

/life.

/meaning.

On a more serious note, I think Shepherd would benefit from some sort of dog companion, maybe two, which he could whistle to to give commands and herd sheep and stuff. Then he could have some actual depth and narrative.

Maybe some sort of "gritty ITS SO REAL ITS KILLING ME" love and sex involving them could be implemented.

Just give Shepard a VTOL gunship and call it a day.

Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes. Yes. I had a crapton of minerals in ME2 (overdid scanning "a little"), and at the same time i was low on credits. Just why couldn't i sell minerals?
