I have a simple solution to get rid of sexism.
No-one talk about it.
No-one look at anyone in any different way.
Get rid of chivalry and the assumption women can't do anything for themselves.
Get rid of the principle that because you have a cock you can't do housework.
Stop using the term Girl-Gamers, because they are exactly the same as you.
Stop holding the belief that there are Female only insults. Any insult can apply to anyone.


AND FOR FUCKS SAKE STOP MAKING THESE FUCKING THREADS!

"No one talk about it" Doesn't fix the problem, just means that nobody talks about the problem. For hundreds of years, noone/very few people talked about the problems of sexism or racism. They remained.

"No-one look at anyone in a different way" We all automatically look at people in different ways based upon our varied cultures and whatnot. The reason behind the conversations is to try and make this second thing happen at some point.

"Get rid of chivalry and the thought that women cannot do things for themselves". Interesting point. Been listening to a few documentaries about the advent of masculinity, making such a blanket statement is inherrently flawed. However, I can see your point, it is essentially "Treat people equally" which, again, is kinda the overall aim. So yes, if we were all treated equally, sexism would disappear. But that requires the stage one, the conversations (Are you seeing a recurring theme yet?)

To be honest, I have not met a dude that still thinks that he "Shouldn't" do housework in quite a while. Outside of the Arab world at least. This is rather the same point as above.

Explaining why we qualify the statement with "Girl" would take a while and is not something I can really be bothered to do this morning. I agree though, I think we should try and drop the term. But we cannot do that until we break down more of the gender norms, which, again, is kinda the point behind talking about this stuff.

So there are insults which are gendered. Much like there are insults which are racist and do not apply to all people. Anyone who has ever studied linquistics, either for pleasure or professionally, will point out that the "Belief" that some insults are female only is not a belief, it is a fact. Sorry. Some insults are female only and only really apply to women.

Maybe we should accept sexism exists, it's a human trait, and all sexes do it.

Women and men are different, I'm sorry if that's a shocking statement, but our brains work differently, men are more logical and women are more emotional. We react differently to situations and a man can't effectively predict how a woman will react or think, and vice versa.

I think the human race should accept sexism and move on, and maybe just try to find ways to make it less offensive. Your simple solution falls over before the 2nd point, we can't choose how we look at people, or the instinct, impression we get when meeting someone. We are not in control of these base instincts! - anyone who claims otherwise is kidding themselves. Girl gamers are not exactly the same as me. Just like boy gamers aren't the same as me - we are not just a collection of atoms doing the same thing - we have emotional response to videogames, that is why we play them, and those responses will be different for different people, regardless of sex. Typically though, women and men have different taste in things. You think that Hugh Grant has a career because we are all the same?, think about it!
There are female only insults, and male only insults, and retard only insults, and all sorts of shit inbetween. What you are really saying is that anyone should be offended at a negative statement, no matter who it's targetted at. Accept that men and women are different, accept that sexism, sexist jokes, offensive jokes, and threads like this exist. You think not looking at the thread is the easiest form of action to take? You're clearly new to the Internet. Threads like this, sincere or not, have a huge pull factor. During their formative minutes they are as unassuming as any other new thread, however all they require is to attract one or two forum denizens and before you know it there's hundreds of replies. Innocent members on their way to watch videos are pulled in by the rage-field of such threads, the density becomes so high that people's replies are crushed together causing them to undergo textual fusion. A process that results in high magnitude rage-emissions that span paragraphs of space, affecting the formation of replies many hours away. This run-away process can lead to bloated threads whose pull requires literally jiggawatts of willpower to resist. At those levels your brain can easily be turned into sago and sent back to last Tuesday.
